Friday, 26 January 2007. I had a fantastic trip yesterday, touring the enchanted 100 Islands region by Bangka boat with our hired guide Alan. So peaceful, serene and amazingly beautiful. I couldn't ask for a better first experience on a bangka. We returned to the home of Tita Angeles and Tito Tudding to spend the night in Pozorrubio. Enjoyed another home cooked meal at their place. SARAP! Sat outside to eat in the breeze and enjoy chatting with everyone. Cesar and I sat and talked for a long time afterwards too. He used to work as an office equipment repairman for many years in the middle east country of Oman. He is glad to be back home, helping Roland take care of their parents. Both Roland and Cesar have grown children of their own, and are very fortunate to have their parents and to tend to their small family provencial farm.

We planned to get up this morning (Friday) and drive down south to the Subic Bay area. I didn't sleep well, and as evitible as it is, experienced my first upset stomach and diarhea. Was a very mild case, thankfully, but I decided that we should go north back

home to La Union instead of traveling 3 hours south, then 6 hours back home at a time when I wasn't feeling 100%. Of course Tito Joe agreed. Better anyway on everyone, since we'd been on the go, driving everywhere in such a short time. I am so appreciative of every single experience with the Austria family!! Whether at home, near home, or over in another province.

Tomorrow we rest some, and find some things to do around San Fernando and San Juan. 'Til next entry, happy reading. I hope you enjoy hearing about my experiences here!

Bruce
