Filippijnen
Philippines
From Acquino International Airport we meet our host for the next few days, uncle Leo Merkx (mam’s brother). After a dead men’s ride through the busy streets of Manila in the evening we arrive at San Roque Beach Resort in Buco Talisay where aunt Lita awaits us with a very nice ice cold beer. The Taal (pronounce Ta~al) lake with the island with the Taal volcano. Actually there are 36 small volcano’s together but only one is visible!
In the morning we go 600 meters up hill for a spectacular view of the lake. In the afternoon Lita’s son Dong Hot trakes us in the sightseeing boat (well….) around the island. The volcano recently became more active so no tourists are allowed to see the crater on the island.
The sights are fantastic. The people who live on the island breath poverty and it will be a hard time to survive for them. The second full day we take it easy, we’ve got the time, and go to a large shopping mall and to a wonderful market. The locals buy all their stuff, food, fish, fruits and meat ther including the flies!). A wonderful picture.
Tomorrow morning on our way to the Hard Rock Café and from there to our last stop in the Philippines, Acquino Airport. From there back to Kuala Lumpur again for 1 night and the day after tomorrow we start our trip across Java Indonesia.
