So here is a little of my time in KL. I got to see a lot more since I was barred entry to Indonesia my first time b/c of my passports expiration date. So I got to spend a couple more days in KL waiting for the embassy to open on Monday. It's a really cool city, reminds me a lot of San Francisco because of the hills and just a lot cleaner and nicer than other cities here in South East Asia. Everything is really easy to get to with the really great subway and monorail systems that circle through out the city, so I got to see a lot more and not be so worried about the price since it was so cheap compared to taking taxis. Though it is kinda weird sometimes b/c the whole car could be full of people and still it would be silent except for the normal creaking and brake noises on subways. I guess the Malaysians just don't talk to each other in places like that. It wasn't til I was on a late night train that it loosened up and people enjoyed the ride. We got to go to the Petronas Twin
KL
View from the observation deck Towers (the largest twins in the world) and after being told that they were out of tickets with in our time frame before our flight we shopped around at the mall inside which is great, and came back an hour later and were told they had some cancelled tickets and let us through for the very next tour. It was a bit startling going up the elevator to the observation deck on the 44th floor in like 15 seconds and having my ears pop b/c we were going so fast. I was really excited to get up there, especially after seeing all the action that happened there in the movie 'Entrapment' with Sean Connery and Catherine Zeta-Jones. Well the view was spectacular and gave me a nicer impression of the city seeing it's smart design and beautiful layout. We only got about 10 minutes for pictures and were whisked down the the ground for some more shopping...
My favorite part of the city turned out to be this Massive shopping mall(which I usually don't like) called Berjaya Times Square , but this mall had something special: and indoor theme park- in fact the largest one in South East Asia.
So once I saw this- and the amazing price of only 6 dollars- I jumped in to explore all the rides and games and have a complete blast. It was really empty so I could go on any ride as many times as I wanted and never wait in a line, the only time I waited was on the DNA Scrambler so they could get a few more people on, well that never happened so they finally just strapped me in super tight like and I thought, " It this really necessary?" and found out that is indeed was. The DNA Scrambler was aptly named due to the fact that it lifts me up, and then proceeds to shake the CRAP out of me for about 30 seconds, then instead of being finished it decides to just change directions, making me face the ground, and then shakes me around again. I just sat there scream/laughing at the same time trying to decide if I was having fun or not. Well the ride lasts about 2 minutes (though it seemed like forever) and I think it really scrambled something b/c for about a week later I had a pain under my
ribs below my heart when ever I would walk... Well after 2 hours of non stop rides and two rounds of Dance Dance Revolution (each time getting the SuperStar award) they closed and I headed home for a night of well deserved rest.
The next day I made it cross-town to the embassy by 8:15 in the morning just so I could wait in line and talk to someone behind the desk, then wait some more, talk some more, do a little paper work, and then be told that it will take 10 days for my new passport... Well after hearing this my heart stopped b/c I had been told Friday night after coming back from Indo. that they could get it to me the same day and I had a flight to catch... Well my lady went disappeared (like they always do in government places) and left me there for another hour, well it turned out for the best b/c she managed to forgo the whole process of printing a new passport and having it sit there for days (like I'm sure they usually do) and gave me my new temporary one. So I forked out the 100
bucks and held on close to my green letter that gives me a free trade in when I get home for a real passport and headed back into the city feeling a whole lot better since that great burden had been lifted and I had no worries once again, I mean how could I when I was headed to the Bali sun and waves....? Well I made it to the airport fine and suffered another cheap Air Asia flight (no water,soda,peanuts...just broken seats). Had a moments worry at the Indonesian immigration counter as he inspected my new passport, but I felt better with my disguise on (just a hat) and he stamped me through just fine to pick up my bag and hire a taxi and then met up with Rachel and Adam for a night cap (don't worry, just soda).

That is awesome! Remember when we rode the monorail in Vegas and fell all over everyone? Fun!
