The stunning Petronas Twin Towers, view from the Menara Tower in Kuala Lumpur We woke up to the sound of pouring rain, it was a terrible day today. We still had our hop-on hop-off sightseeing bus tickets so we planned to do the other route which we hadn’t been on as yet. We packed up our stuff and checked out of the hotel, we left most of our luggage there for the day and headed out. We got on the sightseeing bus and drove around the other route, down Orchid Road. It was so dark and the rain was pouring down we couldn’t really do too much today. We got off at Raffle’s Hotel to have another look around the shops and to see inside the Hotel lobby then decided to head for the airport, it was just too wet to do anything. The sightseeing bus stopped for a short while at the terminal where a large shopping centre is while they changed staff. We all got off and Hannah and I had a quick look around. We went and had a look at the fountain of wealth then headed back to the bus and only just made it back on.
We arrived back at the hotel and got our backpacks in their

Menara Tower in Kuala Lumpur rain jackets. The staff gave me a few plastic bags to put my laptop in and after waiting to see if the rain died down a little we headed to the station and on to the airport. We arrived in Kuala Lumpur in the late afternoon and as soon as we left immigration were bombarded by taxi drivers trying to rip us off. We waited to hear their offer but it was so ridiculous we left to find the train. When we got off the train we headed out to walk to our hotel which was located in Chinatown. We continued down the road to find a massive market with people everywhere. It took up the entire street and we had trouble even finding a way to the opposite side of the road. It was also incredibly hot and in some areas quite smelly as well. We finally found our hotel sign and headed for it, checked in and went up to our room. From our room we could see the crazy markets below, they filled up the entire street, there wasn’t a spare space for anyone.
We had showers and got ready to head out into Kuala Lumpur.

The impressive Menara Tower at night Tonight we were going to Menara Tower and go up to the observation deck. We left the hotel, fought our way out of the markets and took the monorail to Menara Tower. We bought tickets, went through security and headed up to the top. We were also given an audio guide about the surrounding city. The view was amazing, it was the first good opportunity to see the Petronas twin towers without obstruction and they were just incredible. I found it hard to look anywhere else but the twin towers. They soared into the sky, all brightly lit up in the darkness, definitely a sight to see. I tried to get some good photos but it was difficult from up here in the dark, then soon after we went back down. On the way back we ate dinner at TGI Friday’s which was alright, same as anywhere else, then made back for the hotel and went to straight to sleep.
