Quick trip across to Macau. Clubs were epic. We left at about 7am and went for breakfast. Cab hit a casino worker on a moped however there were no injuries. We hung around, sober enough to know that our driver wasn't at fault. Police came but didn't take our statement. After making sure it was okay for us to leave we had breakfast (nothing was open so ended up with some plain crap!) then caught the ferry back to Hong Kong. Time to bed, 10.30am. Wrecked.... read more

Well, as you probably expected me to say, the Formula 1 was indeed, fantastic! I read that it was a quite a dull race to see on TV, but watching it track side in Shanghai was everything I imagined. The noise and speed of the cars was awesome and the atmosphere great. Lewis Hamilton is a superb driver and noticeably quicker at braking and down shifting into the corners. He drove like a man on a mission, occasionally locking up a wheel, but always making the corner. I really hope he keeps it all together and wins the championship this year; it is so good to have a good British driver to support and cheer for at last. Rubens drove well too so that made me even happier. I am asking myself now why it took ... read more

It was a short voyage on the hydrofoil ferry from Hong Kong to Macau but, avast me hearties, the seas were choppy. We had to suffer the sounds of retching passengers for most of the crossing! Thankfully, Kerry and I had good sea legs. Back on land at Macau Ferry Terminal, we passed through immigration and onto tourist information to make enquiries about last minute accommodation deals. We snapped up a bargain booking at the East Asia Hotel where the rooms were comfortable and remarkably spacious - a delightful change from the tiny dimensions of our Hong Kong hostel. You can't possibly mention Macau without talking casinos. What with a Wynn Resort, a Vegas Sands, an MGM Grand resort and a Venetian Macau, you'd think Vegas had led a full scale invasion! But what's most fascinating ... read more

EN FRANÇAIS PLUS BAS JUST A FEW MORE PHOTOS HERE You have been numerous in voicing your concern for my silence, and I thank you for this. I am glad to reassure all of you and inform you that the reason of this silence is not trouble nor malaria--it is mainly because I have been way too busy. As a travel mate told me the other day: "Traveling is no vacation!" Indeed it is not. That is, if vacation means relaxing by the pool and taking the time to read a book, take a nap, bum around. I do manage to squeeze in a few days a month when I sleep in (until 8am, for example, wow!). The rest of the time is just pure, intense, and often hard-earned pleasure, fun and wonder. So that leaves ... read more

The med in Asia We had no real intention of visiting Macau, but the flights from Bangkok are so much cheaper to here than to Hong Kong, we had to. It turned out to be great enforced decision and we thoroughly enjoyed our one night in Macau. In a way, Macau reminded me of a mini Dubai but with a pleasant Mediterranean climate (it gets a nice breeze, so it’s less sweaty than Hong Kong). It is in the middle of a building boom, largely massive casino complexes, as I think it is the only place to legally gamble in China. On our way from the airport we passed an exact replica of the Venetian casino in Vegas, only bigger and in the centre itself there are lots of familiar casino names such as MGM Grand ... read more

WOW!!!!!!!!!! Can't believe I threw myself off of a tower! The Macau Tower bungee is officially the worlds tallest bungee at 233 metres - Its in the Guiness book of records. Anyway, I can't describe the feeling, so I won't even try, but here are the photos. Enjoy! I did! Lisa. XxX... read more

Well, I had 2 intentions prior to my visit to Macau. The first was to take in the architecture (given the strong Portuguese influence of years past and the Chinese gambling culture of today) and the second was to jump off the Macau tower, the highest sky jump (on a wire not a bungee cord) you can perform in the world. Craig, on the otherhand, had limited interest in either pursuit but was happy to tag along in the hope of doing yet more shopping! I really enjoyed the place. Macau is probably not the spot to spend more than a day or two, unless you are very keen on spending excessive hours in casinos, but I would recommend a quick visit for anyone staying a while in Hong Kong. I loved walking around the city. ... read more

I am really tired right now so forgive anything that doesn't make sense. I dont remember if i mentioned this before but ive been playing at the Grand Lisboa Casino. It looks fucking amazing from the outside, a picture wouldn't do it justice and i dont think a vid from my shitty phone would help either. Anyway... I hit the casino a bit late today. I slept through most of the afternoon and hit the casino around 9. I sat down on the table and figure I have only 2 quality players with me here, all the rest are donkeys. I put down 2k HKD and started the day with 2 full houses in the first 10 hands. I didn't get much action on them but i did pick up around $100 aus in total. It ... read more
