Well we leave this truly wonderful place today to fly to cambodia. We have defo left a piece of our hearts here, the people, the stunning scenery, the colonial style architecture and most if all the sabaidees and smiles.

Yesterday we got up really early to see the monks receiving alms from the locals. This is where offerings of rice, money etc is given to the monks to help them survive and in return the monks share their offerings with the poor and animals. The monks walk the streets every day at sunrise and locals line up in the pavements and give their offerings. The poor also line up on the pavements then the monks throw some offerings into their baskets. The monks only eat once a day, before 12pm. Such a beautiful thing to see.

We also hired bikes and spent most of the day cycling round, got down with the locals again off the beaten track.

The night markets here are great, gives the locals a chance to sell their handmade stuff and the money goes direct to them, those that know my passion for shopping, imagine the damage i did here..........all for a good cause.

Laos is the most bombed country in the world and the locals have turned negative into positive and made all kinds of things from exploded bombshells, bought a couple of bits to bring home.

We will miss it here......

Peace and love xx

what a truly inspiring blog. We really have no idea about other people's lives do we? It's extremely humbling to see how very grateful they are for so little. It's a memory which will live with you always and .should make us all feel ashamed about our petty everyday problems. with much love, Moom xxx
