Day 2 - Thursday 3rd May 2007

So it’s the first day in Japan.. I’m sooooooo excited… we landed at 9.15am this morning and yeah well didn’t start too well. Once we had been dropped off at the train station, kira and I went for a quick coffee and biscuit at Starbucks before heading off on the Skyliner to Ueno Station.

Mad as we are, and sick of being on any moving transport we decided it would be fun to walk from Ueno station to The Taito Ryokan where we are staying. It was like an 8 min walk but it took us a little bit longer… we got a tiny bit lost :p I did get to practice my basic Japanese… 　
Me: すみません、どこですか。
Lady: いま。
Me: はい。

Yeah so that was it XD so basic yet so useful.
Anyway we got to the Ryokan and checked ourselves in to our little room… it was so basic it was literally like a cupboard but it was so nice. The whole place was so old and pretty.. we got a short tour of the ryokan, then settled into our room.

We then decided to take a little tour of the area we were staying in… we found the Rox building with the fun ￥100. We then found an archade with purikura machines and had a quick play… they make no sense at all but it was fun randomly pressing buttons until we got something :p the photos turned out quite well seeing as we had just been on a flight for 11 hours :p

We then had abit of food and walked around Asakusa market.. it was really cool. We went to the Sensoji shrine too by accident :p

After that we came back to sleep but jet lag got to us and we both woke up randomly at like 1am.. I did manage to get back to sleep though… just..

Oh yeah best random site seeing for today was a random shop at the station called "Lets Kiosk" Best shop name ever :p
