Oh - so before I forget I have some funny stories about classes. The first one happened the 1st day I taught. Wow - that was an experience. You talk and explain, then ask if they understand, and no response what so ever. Just a blank stare - if you frown in Japanese culture I’ve been told that it means that you are in disagreement with the speaker, or that you don’t like them. So - they never show that they don’t know what you’re talking about, just stare right back at you. And the same thing if they understand. So, you can imagine the frustration that immediately hits you in not being able to communicate in English or the little broken Japanese that I know. --- so I broke in class, got up in the ... read more

Hey guys, how ‘s life treating y’all? It better be treating you well. Life here has been crazy. And I don’t mean your everyday crazy, No, no… I could almost fathom that at this point. I’m talking about 24/7 insanity. And the f#$%ed up part is that most of the day almost feels normal, and you start to get the hang of it. Anyways, I’ve accumulated a couple of stories and finally I have time at work to write them down. The first, actually is the most hilarious event so far… Was riding my bike to the store the other day when the wind caught my long skirt and blew it into the chain. Immediately, I came to a screeching halt and almost catapulted over the front of my bike. (In the process I’m sure that I mooned 1/2 of Japan!) But thankfully, I stayed on and pulled my bike to the side of the curb where I tried unsuccessfully to remove my green ... read more

Alrighty well first things first... these last couple of weeks have been, well exciting to say the least. Had a great last couple of nights in the states, thanks guys. It definitely helped me sleep a little more on the plane. Oh- that was a b#tch. In Minn. we got stuck on the airplane for over 3 hours on the runway because something was BROKE with our plane. yeah, that’s real comforting. But after we finally got in the air i started to read *the notebook* omg - the saddest book ever! i was surrounded by these poor Koreans, and here i was this little American girl on a flight to Tokyo, balling my eyes out for the last 200 pages. lol - it was real bad. im sure they were like, crazy American... who are ... read more
