This is our lovely host
Well night one completed sleeping in a typical Japanese house called a Ryokan. We had to be back and the lights off before curfew which was 10.30pm last night.

So before finding somewhere to eat we had a walk around, Nara it is such a lovely place, it was well worth staying than just visiting for the day which most people tell you to do.

We were back in plenty of time for the curfew which was good as at one stage we got a little lost as there are so many little side streets you keep thinking did I go down this one or not.

Anyway as getting into bed Mike noticed the pillows were full of rice and were hard - so he was not the happiest bunny in the world, sleeping on the floor with a hard pillow to boot.

This was until I explained that it moulds around you and will be really comfortable (honest!). Well thinking on your feet sometimes works, as to be honest that is exactly what happened.

We woke this morning and even though last night I had got the fire brigade to be on standby for us

What a spread. PJ with host
we managed to get out of bed without calling on fireman sam!

We decided yesterday to book a Japanese breakfast to complete the full experience - what a good decision this was. I have added a picture for you to see the breakfast experience it is unbeleivable and so glad we decided to go for it.

Our host is so lovely and she puts us to shame as her spoken English is unbeleivable. The room where we had the breakfast is exactly what you expect from the movies. You have the full room to yourself and the only furniture is a low table that is set with you breakfast and a couple of cushions that you sit on. Also the view is into the garden with is so serene. I think I am falling in love with Japan.

Today we are off to a walk with a local around the sights and to see the Great Buddha (need to watch Mike after last night and him reading about Buddha!!). Will keep you up to date on Mike and the Buddha saga.

Have a great day

Loving the blog
Hey Lady P and Sir F, Loving the blog its one of the first things I do when I get up in the morning. What a smashing way to keep tabs on you and know what you are up to. So much so you have inspired me to do one for my Olympic experience so keep your eyes peeling for the link. Sorry I missed you on facetime the other day, I am sure we will catch up over the weekend. Keep happy and enjoying all that Japan has to offer JT xx
