Feb 12 So I got up early this morning to finish getting ready for my trip out to Sumbawa, Still spewing about the price. I almost canceled in the middle of the night but would have lost 50% so i decided to go through with it. So anyway i got to the airport and had to pay a board bag fee the only one i have had to pay this entire trip amazing, i didnt think id have one here at all, it was around 10 bucks, then i had to pay an airport tax another 3 bucks small money just a pain. I started feeling home sick or at least thats what i thought but i figured out later it was more just money sick i hate wasting money and being had so to speak. ... read more

How is everyone? Here I just posted a trip that Me and Chantal did on Friday, Oct. 10th of 2008. We just came a week from Canada to Lombok on Friday, Oct. 3rd before we went to the mountain Tambora. We had plan to climb the mount when we come to Lombok later, so here we go, we just went there. We arrived outside Perama’s office for our 7.30am start. We were marched off to the port by the ‘helpful’ assistant who handed us our onward bus and ferry tickets and directed us onto the waiting ferry, our home for the next eight hours. On entering the passenger deck we were dismayed to see rows of hard plastic seats, after a search round Stan found the VIP lounge. To use it cost 15,000 rupees extra each (less than a pound). We immediately grabbed a seat. Although the lounge was almost empty we found it hard to find four seats together that actually worked. Most of them were broken in the fully reclined position or worse, arms torn off and stuffing hanging out.
