It was a trip which was planned months ago, a trip that always seemed to be a mystery as it was still lying unexplored due to various reasons. Route, maps, excel sheets, important landmarks, turns and twists on the roads, towns and villages earmarked only pumped up our excitement, overridden by commitments, unplanned events, unexpected constraints, uncooperative factors, unconfirmed team, doubts about our ability to travel so far and the list goes on……. Nestled among the Javad hills - a part of the Eastern ghats - near Vaniyambadi town on National Highway from Chennai to Bangalore - is the scenic tourist resort of Yelagiri. A hill station of its own class. At about 250 kms away from Chennai, jsut 4 hours drive and it is the nearest hill station from my home ! and at nearly 1400 mtrs above sea level, Yelagiri is the perfect weekend getaway for the family and friends.
