Agra.. Jami Masjid

"The Friday Mosque", thousands of locals come here on friday to pray. It's a lovely building, set right in the Bazaar. For such a large building the entrances are suprisingly hard to find, had to do a complete circle of the building, before finally stumbling on the entrance.

All these students do all day is read, re-read and then re-read again. Not the most well balanced education, but hey who's judging?

Jaipur City Palace Museum

The carved marble was stunning, in very good condition and the exibits on Arms were massive and disturbing. There was also an nice art museum.

From the top of the giant sun dial I got a great view of the Palace, including the Maharaja's house.

I had a blast roaming around looking at all the astronomy tools. It was amazing think many were constructed in the 1600's.

This device is used to track celestial objects and chart their orbits...Very cool!

The 'Palace of the Wind', built so the women of the court could watch the traffic on the street, while stil being concealed from people's view.

Holy shit
Is the maharaja 12 years old like in Indiana Jones and the temple of doom? Are those the same monkeys that stole my camera in Borneo? Awesome pictures man. I will think of them when I am sitting at my desk at work which, even in New Zealand, is a fate worse than death. Have fun and be safe and stay crazy.

Ditto to what Mosk says, plus I love that pic ("Just like this PIc"), happy New Year will write properly some time in the near(ish) future!! Oh and is it honiker you guys celebrate, or have I just made that up out of thin air?? Well whatever you guys celebrate around now instead of Christmas, hope you had a good one!!

Glad you overcame your ‘on the fence’ attitude about going to India. Definitely is a love-hate kinda place. Everywhere has good and bad, the trick is to discover the good. We’re jealous of your Indian family, but happy that you found them. I can’t imagine what we will feed you when you return, or better yet -- what will you feed us?
