Breakfast & depart 8am for Udaipur, stopping at souvenir shop on way. Stopped at roadside to watch oxen driven grinder for sesame seed oil.
Then lunch at Ranakpur Nature Resort for soup lunch. Nice soup & cuppa.
Then to Shri Ranakpur Jain Temple, all marble with 1444 columns. Leave our leather & food on bus so as not offend their beliefs. All columns & domes exquisitely carved, very impressive, monks & priests walking around. Local legend has it that Dharma Shah, a local Jain businessperson, started construction of the temple in the 15th century following a divine vision. The temple honors Adinath, the first Tirthankar and founder of the Jain religion.
Then travel the greener hills, slow drive over the mountains arriving Udaipur at 4.30pm.
Dropped off at lake for cruise across the lake to The Leela PalaceHotel. Absolute 6 star, with fantastic room, so luxurious with water front room & view. Room & hotel spectacular, almost felt as though we weren't in India but a resort in Europe, known as "city of lakes" .
Quick clean up then cruise across the lake to City Palace Hotel buffet dinner. Spectacular view, ordinary dinner but good evening.
Back across the lake to our Hotel for early night.
