I think I may have worried you all with my worst bus journey ever! It wasnt that bad... well all I can say is time is a great healer! I seem to have (nearly) forgotten the whole experience but it was not a nice journey, Claire & I were the only western people on the bus (and the only females) and everyone was very rude to us. The journey itself was 12 hours, on the most rubbish, pot holed road ever. As ever, the description 'luxury' was very subjective, and the word 'sleeper bus' was a big fib, there was no chance of sleeping on that bus! 4:20 PM grin...Just before work. I am hungry as hell. We had planned to get up and go out for lunch before work but was too tired to crawl out of bed. I called down to Diane and she was stll sleeping as well. This going to bed at day light is a killer on my system. So I called Surash and told him not to come until later. It didn't help, at 3pm George called up to say he had arrived. I asked him to send him away. I hope he returns. I asked George for some Apple juice and he was glad to bring some up. Hello everyone! From the national park, the one with the elephants....our driver continued for another 3 hours, to Mysore, Karataka - a city around the same size as Sheffeld. Nearing the city, the streets became increasingly dusty and noisy, it was a crazy, crazy place! The city itself was everything I magined an Indian city to be - run down, dirty, busy - there are buildings that are just about standing. The streets had rubbish piled high, with cows roaming and eating the rubbish. Its sad how something so sacred is allowed to eat crap. It was interesting, but exhausting to walk around and absorb the mayhem. 5:45am Bangalore. It is Nov 3...I know for sure cause I looked at the calendar before leaving work. This going to work on one day and coming home on another will take some getting use to. We have just gotten home from work. We stopped off at Rita's for a drink after work. Today was her last day in the office. She checked out of her guess house and in to the Leela Palace, a 7 star hotel here. I did not know there was such a thing but I can see why this place got 7 stars. The place is beautiful and any king would be honored to walk in the door. It is big as a palace and breathtaking. And not to far from where we are staying. She deserved it. 5:45am Bangalore. I have been home for a little more than an hour. I picked up a phone today so I cam connected back to the states. If you want to call me, ask me for my Bangalore number. It is free for me for you to call me but cost me an arm and a leg to call you cause I got a pre-pay and not a contract. Ashish took me to pick up the phone today. Diane and I went in a little early.
