Today I woke up to a warm bowl of porridge. It was a bit runnier than I am used to but it was really creamy and reminded me of home. We got news in the morning that Dave would be leaving early due to his hip problem. We went into the Main Lesson on Ancient China in the last week instead. We wore headsets so that one of the teachers could translate for us. It's starting to get cold, so I now wear my thermals as well as a T-Shirt and jumper.

In the afternoon we had a chance to share some Australian food with the Chinese students. We served them 3 dishes - Vegemite sandwiches, Weet-Bix and lamingtons. I prepared the Vegemite sandwiches and only spread on a beginner's level of Vegemite. The lamingtons were a favourite and the Weet-Bix was well-liked too. Vegemite caused some interesting reactions! Some gave a grimace while others said that it was good (to not hurt our feelings). There was a small group of students who couldn't get enough of it and came back for seconds, fourths and sixths, even resorting to eating out of the tube when we ran out of bread. Some of the Chinese students served us home-made hot pot. There was also a musical performance by some of their students. Casey gave a cricket demonstration to some of the students.
