Tibetan street So we arrived in Chengdu, its a cool place, we all wished we had more time here seeing it was so cool. so we checked in and then went to this cool tibetan street which was just around the corner from where we were staying. it was a cool little walk way street place. like a mall or arcade back home. we had some food and then decided to jump in a cab and go to the peoples park. it was a really nice big park with a huge tea house and ppl doing dancing and a man made lake. so we hired a row boat and tried to row it around, so i found out im not that great at rowing but at least i gave it a shot. after the row we went and saw the ppl dancing and me and Fran joined in for like a minute, turns out i cant dance either, so fuck rowing and dancing, i'll find something else to be good at. after that we went to the huge tea house and funny enough had some tea. Me and Justine got a quick massage and our ears cleaned, oh my god that was strange,

Tibetan Street he puts this strang thing in your ear and then hits it and you feel it vibrating and it feels like he's poked it so deep that he's touching your brain. so yeah that was odd. after this we were all ment to go out for hot pot, Chengdu is famous for its hot pots, and then after hot pot go and see an opera. well i was tired from the 18hr train ride, once again i didn't sleep that well so i stayed behind, plus who wants to see opera, i dont watch it at home, so why watch it there. so off everyone went and i went on the net to skype family and listen to music and just be by myself, as much as i love my group i like to just do nothing by myself and listen to music sometime. so once they got back they said the hot pot wasn't that great but that the opera had all these cool acts. like shadow puppets and acrobat kind of stuff. so stupid me for assuming it would be ppl singing loudly and me havn't no idea whats happening (thats what i think of opera back home)
So next day we went to the Panda sanctuary which was cool, pandas are awesome (and so is kung fu panda) anyway it was cool we walked around and i took millions of photos of pandas. afterwards we had a 3 hour bus trip to Leshan to see the huge big buddah carved into the mountain side. once we got there we decided to eat first so we went to this nice little restaurant, and then thats when the earthquake hit. it was so surreal. the ground was shaking but it felt like a truck going past, but when my tour leader jumped up and yelled earthquake everyone ran out of the building. i think oscar was out the door and across the road in 3 steps, he fucken flew out the door. i was kinda shocked and thinking arn't we ment to stand in a doorway. but then it sunk in and i ran outside aswell. i was excited it was my first earthquake and it wasn't that back only a few tiles fell off the roof. i actually sent a text message to my sisters while the ground was still shaking. after the quake phones were jammed for

Row boat in the Peoples Park hours. so we decided to finish our lunch but we dragged our tables outside and ate in the carpark incase of an aftershock. after lunch we found out that no one was allowed up the mountain or to climb the big buddah so we sent on a boat and saw it that way. which was good coz you could see the whole thing. we were ment to go up the mountain to stay in a monastery but that all changed from the earthquake. We went to emi shan and checked into a hotel. we were told there would be an aftershock later that night and that everyone should stay outside during this time. we found out that the quake had hit Chengdu really bad and all felt stunded that we were there that morning. we all jumped on the internet to find out what we could. that night we all went and stayed in the park. we decided to make a party of sorts and took drinks, and music. Terry our tour leader bought a tent and stayed outside in the park the whole night. after 2am i think we all went back inside. it was so unbelieveable how many
