Capricorn: Your horoscope for January 10, 2013
Take a break from your steady climb today, Jessi, and have a look at the things around you. Enjoy a night out with friends, and take an active role in the conversation. See a movie or watch a play. You will find that the more socializing you do, the more you will be able to release some of the tension that you might not even realize you have inside. Get the energy moving again. Take an active role in keeping up with the beat.
Well, Mr. Horoscope lady person man… ask and ye shall receive!
Today was a VERY active day that led to a lot of picture taking, soul-searching conversations, cultural exploration, and general enjoyment of this city that I am meant to call “home” for the next 12 months.
For starters, I put a deposit down on an apartment yesterday. That means that next week I will finally be picking up and leaving my hotel-life behind! After all was said and done, I caved. I went with a single-bedroom, rather than continue to push for a larger space and a roommate. This happened due to the craftiness of my realtor who showed me this BEAUTIFUL, brand-new apartment building with very cute single apartments. I’m feeling pretty good about the location, not wonderful, but pretty good – and that, to me, is an okay pay-off for the luxury in which I will be living.
One of my co-workers lives in the same building, so today she reached out to me to show me around the area and run some errands. Holy cow! We were on our feet non-stop from about 11:30 until we finally sat down to eat
at about 4. Before we ate, we were on buses, running around the city, grabbing pictures, and generally meandering around the West Lake area. It was relatively warm today – around 40 degrees, rather than 25 – but it was intriguingly hazy, so it made for some really fantastic picture-taking. The lake is INCREDIBLY photogenic by night and by day, and had a lot of activity today. So, we had a great time playing tourist.
Maeghan went off to continue her apartment hunt today and also wound up putting a deposit down somewhere. So, this was an incredibly celebratory day wherein we all felt like we are really accomplishing something here. It feels good to feel like you know what you’re doing, let me tellllll you… and to cap it all off? Well, Maeghan and I were, yet again, up against the buses in order to get back to the hotel tonight. Something in my memory told me that I could remember what the map of the area looked like well enough to walk home… that may sound insane, but years of traveling solo and screwing up a LOT have taught me to trust my map-memory. So, we turned
a corner and took about 20 minutes to just walk home. Naturally, having someone else along with me who fully trusted me, I was a little nervous at times… but when we walked up to a familiar intersection, I was cheesin’ from ear to ear and doing a little happy dance knowing that I’VE STILL GOT IT! I still have that travel bug, that navigator and that independent chica inside… and that feels pretty damn good. And that… that is why I came here.
Anyway, I’ve included some photos from today. To answer some of your requests: these pictures do enlarge if you click on them.
