playing darts and Eudora Station Happy Weekend! Friday night went out with people from the office to a local ex- pat bar called Eudora Station. We had some laughs, played some darts and celebrated a co- workers birthday party. Many Hoegardens and Gin and Tonics later, I made my way back to the Hyatt for a 9am pick up by my driver Jerry. On Saturday, Jerry took me around the whole West Lake area- which is beautiful, we went to the Former mansion of Hu Xueyan. The mansion was established in 1872, it covers an area of 5815 square km. It housed 1 wife, 12 concubines, 8 children, the emperor's mother, and over 200 servants. We next headed up the mountain to tea mountain. This is where the Dragon Well or in Chinese Long Jin tea is grown. There is a village of tea houses which in someways reminds me of a small italian village in Assassi. Dragon Well Village has tea houses on both sides of the road where you can stop and sample all different variations of the teas. It was amazing to see and very peaceful. Next we headed to the Buddha Temples and Parks called Lingyin temple. This place is crowded with

traditional chinese birthday cake Chinese and other nationality tourist. It is a very religious location where many chinese come to pray and ask for good luck from the various buddas. In one of the temples ( the temple for health) the warrior guards guarding the Buddha symbolize the animals in the chinese new year. I am the year of the dog so Jerry showed me my guard warrior - i am just saying he was the best looking of the bunch. Unfortunatley- no pictures from inside the temple, the monks do not allow it. 😞... The Lingyin Temple was built in the 1 st year of the Xianhe of the Eastern Jin Dynasty - around 326 AD.
After the temples, we headed to the Bamboo forest which was really cool to see... Tonight I am meeting up with a co- worker and we are going to do some shopping on one of the oldest streets in HangZhou called Hefang street which is where one of the night markets is located. You can buy tea, fans, jade, silk, etc at the night markets. Then off to dinner and possibly a Jazz Club.
Zai jian ( Good bye) for now..
