adventure in guilin 001
the start of our adventure... a bunch of older people playing cardsHey everyone,
So we decided on our last free day in china to grab a couple beers, and just see where we would end up at the end of the day. Here is how it went!
1) started off at KFC... Mmmm meat you recognize!
2) walked around the famous elephant hill scenic area and the 2 pagoda's.
3) met a local and went to a tea tasting shop where we tried the local tea called osmanthus.
4) then we found our way to a crazy market, more off the main roads and into the local, not tourist area! There were all sorts of crazy stuff there, including blood soup! EWWWW
5) we met locals and hung out with them, and played with kids!
6) Quinn had a shot at fishing,and caught a couple little fish, they kind of looked like sardines
7) we were invited into a locals house, the man was blind and half of one of his arms was gone. we shared snacks with them and gave the man our canada bandanas... they did not speak english, so we showed friendliness with hugs and smiles!
8) we helped a little boy with his english and homework
9) we were invited into another non-english chinese families house, and for dinner which was very interesting... the pictures will show the conditions of the house, there was a HUGE rats in the house and we ate chickens feet, snails, rice and a weird vegetable. They were amazing people and it goes to show you that the people who have the least give the most!
10 hours later we took a cab back to the hostel... wow... what a great way to end off our china adventure!
