Bonjour de Hangshou

Mon Dieu que nous nous sentons loins du monde. On a l'impression de reculer dans le temps! We are now in a little fisherman's village called Hangshou after a 5 hour boat ride from Guilin. The scenery was spectacular and breathtaking and we are enjoying a few hours off and a summer temperature - 22C.

Nous n'avons pas arrete du tout depuis notre depart de Montreal - c'est notre premiere journee ou nous pouvons avoir un peu de temps.

In our last blog we had mentionned a 17 hour train trip but we had to cancel since our stomach did not want to follow us neither our bowels!!! we were the only ones to change the plans and we flew the following day to meet group after a 1hour1/2 flight. According to the other members of the group we missed the trip from hell!!! it was a nightmare - cigarette smoke, disgusting toilets as you can imagine, indescribable odor, hot and moreover very crowded!! one girl in the group did not use the toilet for the whole trip and nobody slept.

Only 3 out of 12 have not been sick yet. We are recovering from this cultural shock and although we are seeing extraordinary sceneries we are brought back to reality when in front of so much poverty.

Last night we went on strike and had a spaghetti dinner which was not too bad.

Hey guys! :) I am really enjoying reading your trip blog. You must have felt so lucky to have not been well enough to go on that excursion trip! Hee-Hee! David, Jaimie and I will be leaving for Disneyworld on Monday. We will be returning Nov 29th. Keep sending your e-mails. I will cqatch up on them when I return home! Enjoy the rest of your trip!
