1: Our lives in China-Translation 59 secs
On Thursday, December 24th the Shenzhen Education Bureau hosted a Chinese banquet for all the CTLC foreign teachers and our contact teachers. Wilson, our contact teacher, did not attend as he taught 3 classes in the afternoon and could not get out of teaching them. Pete's 2 classes and my 3 classes were canceled that were to be that afternoon.

We arrived at Silver Lake Resort around 4 pm, checked into our hotel room and found our other friends that had already arrived at the hotel also. The dinner started at 6pm and was quite the experience. Of course there was Great Wall wine, soda and Chinese food for dinner(not enough either since once it was done we were still all hungry and drunk).

After dinner there were about 5 or 6 groups of teachers that gave a performance. Four of us couples sang Jingle Bells in Chinese, it was quite entertaining as 7 of the 8 of us are just learning Chinese this year. Enjoy the pictures as the night got pretty crazy.

On Christmas morning we woke up around 10am there was breakfast served in the lobby but I missed the food. Cali, Jimmy, Staci, Martin, Pete and I then got on a bus to Dongmen where we caught another bus to Yantian for our Christmas day celebration at Kris and Kelly's apartment. While at Dongmen we went to Dunkin Donuts for breakfast then McDonald's for some grease as 4 of the 6 of us were hungover.

Once we arrived in Yantian we lounged around most of the day recovering, enjoying each others company and we also had a gift exchange. We cooked dinner around 8pm then went caroling at 9:30pm. We sang Jingle Bells in Chinese to a few local businesses that Kris, Kelly, Cali and Jimmy frequent. We got lots of looks walking through the streets with Santa hats and reindeer antlers on. Glad we could spread the Christmas spirit in China.
