Bok Choy - Xiamen Market.
Market in the city center of Xiamen, Fujian Provence. China Geo: 24.45, 118.08
Xiamen has a crazy street market that is filled with all kinds of sea life and other animals both dead and alive.
The city is made up of islands, one of which, Gulangyu, is peaceful with a huge statue at the far end of the island, The Organ Museum, An Old Fort, and it has lots of scary and spooky houses.
The island is completely of cars.
We rode a local bus for 3 and a half hours, one way to Tulou to see the Round and Square houses.
We met a lovely old man who was waiting under an old tree to have his photo taken with foreigners.
We slept in a Square (round) House.
Took a tour of the amazing Round Houses and I must admit that I did say, "They are so round."
The next day we travelled back on the bus for 3 and a half hours back to Xiamen.
We ate glass noodles and cold peanut soup, a vegetarian roll (Popiah), passionfruit with a straw and honey and a fantastic potato dish.
