The rain is steady this morning, and at times, absolutely pouring onto the streets. When I rose, very early this morning, after having crashed heavily and slept for 9 straight hours, one of the first sounds that greeted me was that of someone's car alarm! LOL There were several that blasted into the early morning. That and the rain, and me at my computer, trying to straighten out the mess the upload made of the pictures.....lol, oh well. What else have I got to do?
I gotta say, I am so hungry, and there's not a pizza joint in sight, or even a McDonalds. OMG, I would even eat there. I was a bit afraid to go wandering in the dark last night, and so tired I opted for blogging and bed. And I may go back to bed after posting these new pix.
I was thinking about my initial impressions of China. Beijing was so foggy or hazy when we landed, I wasn't sure if it was an air quality issue, or just the humidity, or fog, but as the sun rose, it was quite impressive, especially with that angry red sun rising. Oh, and by the way, be sure

to scroll WAY down past the edge of the blog....more pictures are posted at the very bottom. I think it might be easy to miss them, and but for the work and time involved for uploading them, even when the quality of them is not so hot, I would love for you to see them all.
I will now post the pix of the hotel and the building where I will be working. It is right in downtown Xiamen. This morning, when I looked out, I was struck by the fact that there are few street lights anywhere. Another good reason not to wander around by myself in the dark. Pauline, I did bring a flashlight and maybe I should start carrying it! LOL
Ok, attempting to post the next series of pictures. Crossing my fingers and asking for angelic help, as usual, here we go........! 😊
I am, once again, struggling with the photo app. It mixes up the pictures, the captions and duplicates things. Basically, it's a nightmare. If some stuff is out of sequence, oh well. the Internet connection here is so slow it takes forever, and I haven't eating in almost 18 hours and I'm a

If you look down and to the left, there is a restaurant in there where I had my first real Chinese food and it was AWESOME! Even the chicken feet. LOL
