Today we left the grasslands and woodlands of the Serengeti and travelled for 6 hours to arrive at our destination- Ngorongoro Crater. Our lodge is perched on the outer rim, 2000 feet above the crater floor. The view, spectacular and the sunset was breathtaking. We will be visiting the base tomorrow, which covers and area of102 square km's. It is the world's largest intact caldera (circular shaped) and is home to many animals and the Maasai people.

During our drive here, we stopped at the Oldupai (spelled Olduvai in the text books) Gorge museum and archeological dig site. For all of you anthropology buffs out there, you may recognize this as the site where the skull of the first man was found in 1959- estimated to have been from 1.8 million years ago. The history associated with the who, what, where, when and how was really very interesting.

Thanks for joining us in this adventure.

Happy, healthy and still holding hands...

Mouahhhh
