After being released by the British as a free nation Uganda had a president but he did little to help the people, this in-action lead to Idi Amin, the leader of the army, to rise to power. He performed a coop and forced the president out of power. At first the people loved him, he promised schools and roads and that Uganda would prosper. But there was problems even from the begining, most of the medical care for the rural parts of the country still came from outsiders providing aid. The roads, schools and other promises that Amin never came true. His main concern was staying in power and doing this by hunting down supporters of the former president or anyone against him. By the time he was forced out eight years later he murdered over a hundred thousand Ugandans. The basic problem with Amin's rule was he had no clue how to run a country, he was two busy securing his power and enjoying the wealth it gave him.
