First day in Marangu Mwika
All of us getting ready to head out and evangelize Hey everyone! I am so sorry it has taken me so long to write another blog but it has been so busy. The past two weeks we have been in a village called Marangu Mwika doing evengelism. Sunday March 2nd we had a group of 12 arrive here in Moshi to help start the new church in Marangu. The group was from Oklahoma, Brent Richardson's brother Matt Richardson and niece Nicole Richardson were part of the group. They arrived late Sunday night, so Monday we let them just rest and have a relaxing day. Tuesday however we got up to head and and do evangalism in Marangu. Things did not quite go as planned and the devil was working hard on not letting us accomplish what we wanted to do. But we overcame and even though we got a lated start we arrived in Marangu Tuesday afternoon and started working on building the church in Marangu. Tuesday through Saturday we went to Marangu, passed out tracts, and set up Bible studies. We had 4 baptisms during that week and on Sunday we had our very first worship service ever held in Marangu. What a great dad for the Lord! There were
35 peolpe at worship that day and 17 of them were from the Marangu area. A new church was started for the Lord that day and I ask you keep it in you prayers. That it may grow and be fruitful for the Lord.
After the amazing week at Marangu we got up Monday and headed to Arusha to start our safari on Tuesday. On our way to Arusha all of us ladies stopped by the Nursery School and the Orphanage in Boma Ngombe to visit and to teach some Bible lessons. After that we went the Craddle of Love Orphanage which is just 10 minutes before you get to Arusha. The Cradle of Love is only babies, ages 0-2 years of age. So we went and held babies for an hour. What is one of the hardest things for me to do. To put a baby down know it needs a home and someone that loves him and walk away. There were two of them clinging to my leg as we were getting up to leave.
We went to Tarangarie National Park on Tuesday and then to the the Ngorongoro Crater on Wednesday. Waking up on Wednesday
My group the second day
Pam and I with our tanslator Abagail going up the mountain to Dorine's house to have a Bible study. morning on the edge of the Crater and looking out over the vast land that God has so blessed us with was truly a humbling thing. To know that our great and almighty God made all of that is simply amazing, words can not discribe what I was looking at that morning. The day went great and we saw many animals but soon it was time to start our drive back to Arusha. We got back to the hotel on Wednesday night and the group from Oklahoma was set to leave Thurday night. So Thurday was getting the group ready to go and to get them some last minute shopping in before we took them to the airport. After a long sad goodbye at the airport we headed home to get a goodnight's rest because as soon as we woke up today we have to get ready for a group of 6 coming in tonight. They are from Marble Falls, TX and they will be here for a week to work with the Nusery School in Boma Ngombe.
So we are getting the house and life back in order before this group arrives tonight. I put some picures of
New babe in Christ
This lady was one of the first to be baptised the past 2weeks and I hope that you enjoy looking at the work that was done as much as I enjoyed doing the work.
I want the thank everyone again for allowing me to be here and to do the Lord's work in Africa. Your help will go further than you realize and the seed that grows from it will be great!
In Chrisian Love,
Callie
