Me and Lindsey Jensen
Lindsey and I during the women's seminar on Saturday. It has been an great week in the work of the Lord. Starting with the Women's Seminar on Saturday lead by Joy Jensen, one the the missionary wives here in Moshi. The seminar was on "How to Lead." Joy did a great job and I assure you, everyone learned much from the lessons. At the end of the seminar I lead the closing prayer after Lindsey Jensen (age 15) lead the closing song.
Then on Sunday morning we woke up and attended church at the congregation in Machame which is about 20 minutes from Moshi. The congregation was held in one of the member's house and consisted of 7 members. Their preacher and his wife moved away last week. When we got there, there was no one to lead any of the assembly so Brent Richardson did the prayers, songs, communion service and the sermon all himself, in Swahili. Very very impressive, he did a awesome job.
This morning (Tuesday) we headed out to Boma Ngombe to go to Hannah's Nursery School. We arrived there at 9:30 am. When we got there I was put in charge of teaching the Standard 1 class, which is like our first
Ellyneema
We took turns holding Ellyneema so that her mom could translate. grade. They are working on their English language, so I showed them some pictures and wrote what they were on the chalk board in English. They repeated the words back to me and wrote them down a piece of paper to work on their letters. After we spent a while in the class room working on English all the children went out side and I did a the lesson of "Baby Moses" to the whole school. It went really well and I had such a great time helping and teaching the kids.
The head teacher of the Nursery School, Mary, just got back home today from the hospital, she had malaria. Mary has 5 children right now and is a single mother. We decided to take the 3 youngest children, Rachel, Susannah, and Agape home with us to spend the night, so that Mary could rest. They are the cutest little girls and wow, do they have some energy. They have been playing around the house all day and having a blast. We just put them to bed in our room and they are now sound asleep. Precious little girls 😊
Well I hope you enjoy
the pictures. I would put more pictures up but the Internet here is so slow today. I miss you and love you all.
In Him,
Callie
