Separate directions once again! Rod and Grant went to hold Bible studies in Usa River; Brad and Cody went to Nsuku; Corey stayed at the ACSOP because he was really, really sick; Danny, Cathy, and Vernetta were at Mondule; and the girls and rest of the ladies were holding a women's seminar at Arusha.
The seminar was at the Arusha Church of Christ, and officially started at 9 AM. However, as nobody was there at 9 AM (as previously stated, time does not factor hugely in Tanzanian's life style), it started at 9:30.
From my point of view, I would say it was quite a success! There were about 50 in attendance! The theme was women of the Bible. Cindy Williams gave the first lesson, which was on Rebekah (she and Ralph were leaving TZ that night, so right after her lesson she had to return home to pack). After that, we had a break for "chai" (tea) and bread. The seminar resumed, and Pam spoke on Sarah, and Stephani spoke on the Queen of Sheba (mainly about wisdom).

Then it was lunch time! Rice and meat and sort of a cooked cole slaw. The

men actually cooked our lunch, and (for lunch like that) it was really very good! Way to go, guys! 😱

In the afternoon, Mom gave a lesson on Mary & Martha. Cathy and Vernetta had written lessons, before knowing that they would be working every day. Soooo Lexi gave Cathy's lesson, which was on Ruth, and I gave Vernetta's lesson, which was on Vashti. I was lucky enough to get Jane as a translator! You might think there's not a lot to learn from Vashti, but you'd be surprised. While my lesson certainly did not last the 2 hours that Cindy's did, the lesson on Vashti talked about her modesty and conviction. Finally, Janet gave a lesson on Miriam.

Inbetween each lesson,a lady from the congregation would get up and lead a song or two. The singing was magnificent. I've put some videos on here; I hope you will watch at least one or two. (Actually, they're not videos; it's just recordings, so you don't even have to watch them, just listen). The singing is splendid!

That night, Brad and Cody were invited to Emmanuel Jr.'s house for supper. Cy said it was really very unusual for them to invite a missionary over to their house for supper. Emmanuel was Brad's translator. Cody said the "chips" (french fries) were very good. As for the rest of the group, we went over to the Stafford's house, where we had enchiladas and apple pie, just what I'd been longing for!!

"Holy Lord, most holy Lord
You alone are worthy of my praise
Oh holy Lord, mostly holy Lord,
With all of my heart I sing,

Great are you Lord,
Worthy of Praise
Holy and true,
Great are you Lord."
