Dear Banks Blog Followers, Well, the power has been restored to Lushoto so I will do what I set off to do today, along with shopping and mailing. We both had our first real teaching experience this week and what an eye opener. It would take a long time to really describe. But, picture a classroom with only wooden desks, blackboad, and chalk...that's it. Oh, and 80 eager to learn students jammed into benches 4 per bench. Dave is teaching Biology with no books and I have English...with NO books. OK, send some, any paperbacks you can and it's best to use an envelope mailer rather than a box. I will have more details as I can get them. Our PO Box is 277 Lushoto, TZ and we thank you in advance. We are quite comfortable and happy in our new home and have adjusted to what might be considered inconveniences. Cooking is "easy" but procuring food is hard. Charcoal and kerosene jikos work well, but no refrigeration still causes glitches. All the walking up and down valleys is delightful and the villagers are extremely friendly.greet, regreet, and then greet some more. And this is all for one family! We repeat the greet many times over on each and every encounter. We think of you all and hope you are happy and healthy. love. Dave & Wendy
