As you know if you read my yesterday’s blog I made many changes to my room and sleeping arrangement to ensure that I wake up on time today. Surprisingly it worked pretty well and I ended up waking up at 3:30, only 2 hours after I went to sleep the previous night/this morning. After walking downstairs to check the time I realized that I had awoken too early and then proceeded to go back to bed. At exactly 5:30am I woke up again and as I headed downstairs to check the time I was definitely excited to get on my flight to Cape Town. Kabir’s maid offered to make me breakfast as I headed back upstairs to shower and get ready. At around 5:50 kabir woke up and was surprised to see me already ready. I ... read more

So the 1st day we were here, we locked down a place to live, and the 2nd day I was here, I locked down a place to work. I will be working at Tuscany Beach right in Camps Bay, just about a 15 minute walk from where Grandma lives. It is a super sweet area. You can check them out if you are really interested at www.tuscanybeachrestaurant.com . Not only did I get a job, Ryan got a job at the Bay Side, which is 2 restaurants down the coast from me, and Orrin got a job around the corner from me at Cal'Cacchio pizzeria. After 40 hours of traveling, I made it to Cape Town. WHOA! What a journey. Luckily I slept for a big chuck of it, but I am still super sleepy. Ryan picked Orrin and I up from the airport with their driver friend Andy, who in the near future will be driving us down thru the Garden route for a full day in the wineries. Because we missed our connecting flight in JoBerg to Cape Town, we got to Ryan's grandmother's house, around midnight last night. After a tour of the house, showers..etc it was a pretty late night. Ryan's grandmother, Hannah was sleeping as was the live in maid named Gladise. This house is amazing, you can see from the pictures, just stunning views of the water, they have a pool, nice kitchen, and all ... read more

What a day! Woke up to find Philip had gone out running on the beach. The Tele wouldn't work so Philip called maintenance on his return who turned up and suggested he try plugging it in first! oh the shame. So after breakfast we went on a bus tour of cape Town seeing some interesting and beautiful sights, we got off at Camps Bay for some sunbathing which has to be one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. I was going to go for a paddle but Philip told me about the great white sharks in the sea so i had a sleep instead. Then we got back on the bus and headed up Table mountain which included getting a cable car to the summit . Truly awesome. Very windy thou and I nearly ... read more
