There are a lot of pictures to enjoy because this was our private cheetah for quite some time before any other cars came up

What are you looking on my side of the road for anyway?

Got up and headed out on game drive toward the Phabeni gate. We were driving along when Robert suddenly exclaimed, "Stop there is a lion, no it is a cheetah!" We were the only ones at the site and so we got to sit and enjoy this cheetah for quite some time before anyone else drove up.

This comment is a joke because when we are on a game drive, Robert looks to his side and I look to mine but for some reason Robert was looking on my side and as a result made this fabulous spot!

Up close and personal with the cheetah
The cheetah seemed to be content to just look around.

We watched for over 30 minutes before the cheetah decided to make a move and climbed down off the perch he was on and crossed the road to the other side. There were still few enough cars we were able to back down the road and catch him walking over to
a wood pile area and a downed tree. We are always trying to keep Robert on the side of the road where he has clear shots of the animal we are viewing. So, as a result I became quite good at backing up!

He scratched and hugged the down tree and then went over into the grass and lies down.

This was our first experience with a cheetah on this trip and was even before we got to see a leopard in Kruger this time! Wow!
