01 Me
I am sitting next to the river. Geo: -26.0016, 27.5487
This morning we got up quite early and left at about 8 for a little hike. It was going to be a warm day and we wanted to get back before it got too hot. We generally walked along the path that was parallel to the small river. It was a nice and easy walk, far from strenuous and this was fine by me. The landscape was very rocky.
Along the way we saw many klipspringers. They are small antelopes that live on rocks and seem to have great balance as they jump from rock to rock. They were a little bit shy and when we got to close they would jump away. They usually live in mating pairs.
The rock formations were beautiful and we admired them as we walked along. We also enjoyed climbing all over them. When we arrived at the waterfall we had a little rest and cooled down. We weren't quite hot enough to go for a swim here, but it would be a great place for a dip.
Once we had cooled down we turned around and headed back to the chalet, walking along the same route.
In the end we did a three hour
02 Rock Pools
There are rock pools all along the river. hike. We were starving when we returned and ate lunch. Early afternoon was spent relaxing at the chalet.
Later on in the afternoon, we went to the swimming pool with a bottle of sparkling wine. As we had a dip in the pool to cool down, we also enjoyed wine and a beautiful African sunset.
