01 Our Cabin
This was where we stayed for the past two nights. Geo: -25.756, 27.849
This morning we had a sleep in. After breakfast we packed our belongings and left at about 11am. I really like Mountain Sanctuary Park and would like to return one day. Next time I want to swim/paddle in the rock pools in the river and do some more hiking. On the way back to Johannesburg we drove through the Hartbeespoort Dam area.
We decided to stop at the Hartbeespoort Aquarium. It was a very small place and we spent about an hour here. There was a good range of animal species to see considering the cheap entrance fee.
We started off in the aquarium and viewed many fish, both freshwater and saltwater. Then we walked around outside. There was no-one else here but us; therefore we had the place to ourselves. On the weekends they have animal shows in the afternoon, but as today was not a weekend but a Monday, we didn't see any shows.
The seals were interesting to watch, it had been a while since I had been so close to seals. I like how they waddle about. There were a few different birds walking around and unfenced.
We had an enjoyable visit and then drove back
