After a long, 14 hour direct flight I arrived back in South Africa. I had a wonderful six weeks being at home spending time with family and friends, and was now looking forward to seeing Paul again. While I was in Australia, Paul was completing two courses, one about birds and the other one was a field guide course. I landed at about half past 4. Paul picked me up and said that we were going away for two nights for a short break. It wasn't a long drive and then we arrived at Mountain Sanctuary Park.

Mountain Sanctuary Park is a privately owned nature reserve. The main activities here are biking, hiking and walking. There are also a few varieties of general game around. Tomorrow we will have a chance to explore. Luckily, there is also a swimming pool here, which will we appreciate in this warm weather.

By now it was dark. We checked in and found our cabin. It was quite large- 3 bedrooms, but a small living area. He had already bought food and drinks. After emptying the car we had dinner. Then sat outside, had a few drinks and continued filling each other in on the last six weeks.
