The blue city, Chefchaouen There are incredible advantages to being in the northeast of Morocco. It is hot, but not nearly as hot as the south. We are near both the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. We are close to the Tangier ferry which can take us to Spain (in 35 minutes) and Italy. We are close to the capital of Morocco, Rabat. Strange goings on in Chefchaouen...

A group of Asian folks were filming and taking pictures with some very expensive equipment. I thought it was of the locals. I was wrong. The object of their attention was NOT the local people, but the CATS!!!

Remember, all this attention for a cat.

My Aunt Patty wouldn't not see an issue with this! :)

Once again, this camera is just for the local cats.

Many, many people use these spigots as watering holes.

Not to worry... these are only for pets.

This is a wonderful little shop with homemade soaps and tons of homemade incense and body cleansers.

Unfortunately, the first day we entered the shop, the man inside didn't get off his couch... nor did he speak to us except to answer our "hello's." We thought he looked baked out of his mind...

Now... if you look closely, you will see the hash pipe and all the fixin's for it as well. This time there was another man on the couch, but he was actually smoking said pipe... with gusto!

Picturesque is a good description of Chefchaouen.
