The blue city, Chefchaouen There are incredible advantages to being in the northeast of Morocco. It is hot, but not nearly as hot as the south. We are near both the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. We are close to the Tangier ferry which can take us to Spain (in 35 minutes) and Italy. We are close to the capital of Morocco, Rabat. Of note: Please notice the men and boys helping to do the laundry here. We have never seen this happen anywhere else in this country.

Side note: He wanted to smoke a "spliff" at the falls... as he said it was so beautiful and the perfect place to relax. Although I agreed with him about the relaxing, I had to point out to him that getting caught with drugs in Morocco (for a non-Moroccan) is pretty bad and can get you 10 years in jail. I kindly declined his generous offer.

Note: There are only two places to get alcohol in Chaouen... this is one of them. The other location is in the medina at a nice hotel, they have a bar that will sell you liquor by the bottle. If you tip the bartender, you can get a mica (plastic bag) full of ice!!! Err... so I have heard. :)
