I greet Chief Zack, never has he approached me to greet me. He is a chief, and as tradition goes, he is supposed to be greeted first, normally lower then him with your hands closed. I don't really apply to these rules but try my best to show respect. He is one person that I trust and respect fully in Ghana. I admire him and his life. I only wish I had more time to learn from him. He tells me about an NGO that will be hosting a cultural dance of sorts. If you've ever imagined what it would be like to visit an African fishing village in pre-colonial times, go to Ada Foah. Although they may not have electricity or running water, this village is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful places I've ever visited. I went to Ada Foah with six other friends who I met either at work or at the Obruni House -- Jessica, Timo, Candice, Carolyn, Chris, and Christian. We first took a 2 hour tro-tro (a Euro-van converted into a crowded group taxi) from Accra to Ada Foah and then a 20 minute boat ride from the center of 'town' to our huts. On this day we the missionaries in the Koforidua prepared to travel to Kpong for a football match between Koforidua,Ho and Tema zones. We got there at about 9:am and met the elders and sisters in these zones. we started the match and played different teams but at the long run we emerged the winners and about 4:00pm we came back to Koforidua.... read more
