we all felt like we were back in school and if you were late back to the bus we thought he would give you detention!! He was quite controlling but had a humorous side too... made it worthwhile. As you can imagine in a museum there was a lot of old stuff drab in appearance and the high light was a visit to the King Tutunkhamum which an array of gold, gem stones and colour. A must see.
Next was the Citadel of Salah Al-Din and in that was the Muhammed Ali Mosque - not the Muhammed Ali we know....... the boxer but an egyptian fella. They like to keep the carpets clean cos you have to take your shoes off.
After that we went to the Pyramids Light and Sound Show - many thousands were there - it was damn freezing but the show was good, educational and interesting to see the pyramids lit up as well as the Sphinx. Quite a sight really. But by this time we were very hungry so luckily the next stop was the boat trip up and down the Nile - while having dinner - this was quite good and there was a belly dancer there - John says she had the best upper chest super structure he had ever seen..... engineers delight as to how they stayed up - you couldn't stop looking at them they were so huge on her small body.
Finally we reached our rooms around 11pm at the Marriott and had a quick shower and into bed and out cold - it was a long day and had to be up at 5.30 again the next day
