Well our last week in Darwin was as memorable as as all the others, we took a drive out to the Adelaide river and went to Robin falls, in the car park a sign points the way to the falls and indicates a 300mtr walk it did not indicate that it would take at least 15min scrambling over rocks but when you arrived at the fall it was worth it. Down at the wharf we saw 2 Australian navy ships tied up and 2 customs boats as well, this is a busy place. We also decided to stock up with supplies before heading into Kakadu. Darwin being a fishing port there is plenty of fresh fish on offer, there being 2 fishmongers on the fisherman's wharf we stocked up with fish and put them in the freezer we ... read more

Hey fellas, long time no see. I've to admit that i've been a bit lazy in the recent two months in case of writing my travel blog. But i had a great time and i will try to share some bits and pieces. So let me think what happened in the last two months. I made lots of new friends on campus :) and i'm finally practicing with the local bboy crew in Darwin. They are really great guys. Especially a big shoutout to my man Andy who is like a australian/chinese :D brother to me. He picks me up for every practice and try to push each other to the limit. "Yo Static, you'll always get up once more than you fall" If you read this you'll know what i mean. :) Ah yeah right. ... read more

Last weekend we went on an organized two-day tour of Kakadu National Park (pronounced Ga-ga-doo). Really beautiful place with lots of Aboriginal rock paintings, many that are thousands of years old! As per usual, there were plenty of "look out for the crocs" signs but our tour guide said it was safe to swim in this one location where there was freshwater and a waterfall! And we did loads of hiking. It was beautiful. It was rainy the whole time, which was great because it's much cooler than when the rains stop and the humidity build up starts. On the down side, the mozzies were full on (translation: the mosquitoes were very plentiful). During our hikes we saw a few wallabies hopping around -they are SO cool and we also went on a jumping croc tour. ... read more

Our plan was to leave Darwin on Monday but of course plans change and we decided to stay one more day, unfortunately the caravan park we were in had already booked the site we were on so we decided to go for a drive. We headed off to Mandorah - we were thinking about taking the ferry across from Darwin but ended up driving around. We stopped off at the pier just as the ferry was docking and the day trippers were heading to the pub for lunch. We had a look around the pub and then headed off again. Heading back toward Darwin we decided to book into another caravan park and head out to Kakadu on Wednesday. Doesn't seem to matter which caravan park you stay in in Darwin you are under the flight ... read more

This morning we are still in the Kakadu National Park. There are some great natural sandstone formations that we can climb in the Gunlom Lookout Walk to get to a natural waterfall the feeds into a larger upper pool and down into lower pools. These are great swimming holes as they are cool, clear and croc free water. Not too much of that around here. It is such a relaxing morning and the weather is fantastic. We travel to the small mining town of Pine Creek and I transfer to the other tour that will take me on the last leg of my tour. There is gold in them there hills. The gold mining industry here in Australia is very strong and making their dollar stronger than ours for the first time ever this past year. ... read more

Today we left Alice Springs heading north for the Devils Marbles. It was about a 400km trip. Getting there at 2pm we decided that we’d have lunch and then push on, to Tennant Creek. The camp ground was pretty busy and we figured once we’d seen his marbles there was not much reason to stay! We climbed the marbles and standing on top we could see thousands of acres of marbles ready to be explored. The marbles were formed when molten lava was pushed up from underground. Over time the ground around them has been eroded. We stopped in at Brenner Springs Roadhouse and checked out there famous hat collection and chowed down on some of their home-made sausage rolls! Fuel is getting cheaper, now $1.73 a litre!! After arriving in Tennant Creek, we tried the ... read more

Und zwar je nachdem, welche Ausfahrt man nehmen will (1. Ausfahrt links blinken, 2. Ausfahrt nicht blinken, 3. ... read more
