2nd Time Camp Counsellor Camp is 2 months. 1st session and 2nd session. Some kids come for one session, most come for both! Camp is still the best thing I have ever done. It has and continues to open my eyes to so much more. Being a camp counsellor is such a rewarding job, you spend all day at your activity with the kids coming and going, then you go back to your bunk with your kids and get ready for the evening, then we have evening program which is always so much fun! Then we go to bed and get up and do it all again! Some of the activities include; Lake, pool, archery, fitness, jogging, athletics, dance, drama, glee club, yoga, arts and crafts, gymnastics, tennis, cooking, outdoor rec, media and sooo much more! ... read more

Hello everyone out there in internet land. This is Brenden, and this is my travel blog. Huraayyy travel blogs. Right now I have traveled to my basement to write this blog. What an adventure! The things I saw on those steps were a sight to behold! I saw a dalmatian-lab dog walk RIGHT PASS ME! What a crazy place it is here. So tomorrow I am going to be on an airplane for 17 hours. Journal, I never been on an airplane for that long, so I am nervous. 17 hours! can you believe it journal! Instead of calling you journal I think I am going to come up with a name for you, more on that later. Gotta give the people a reason to keep reading, am I right? Well this entry is obviously not ... read more

Well, I'm busy with the finishing touches! One last load of laundry, cleaning up so Joe doesn't have a messy house to live in when I leave, etc. I have to do a dry cleaner run, grocery store run, pharmacy run... but I'm pretty finished otherwise. I'm excited and nervous and trying to decide whether to take two carryons! If I have a second, then I have space for things I might buy there! Ah, decisions! Well, I will probably make my next entry in England! Wish me luck on the flight.. I checked in already and got a great aisle seat close to the front, so I couldn't be happier about that! Hate being stuck on the inside and having to go to the bathroom! ... read more

More images from a brief visit to Longwood. The weather finally allowed for time outdoors - the past few weeks have been miserably hot and humid. Today was a clear, blue-sky day, with low humidity and a cool breeze. So there I was with hundreds of other garden enthusiasts taking in the sights at Longwood. Oh joy - Is it very selfish to want these tourists to pack up their annoying spawn and leave?? A few days ago, I purchased a 1 gig SD card for the my Nikon Coolpix. I've been dealing with a 128mb SD card that I bought along with the digital camera - talk about applying conservative values! I brought my Canon SLR along only to find out I left the film at home and the batteries were drained. Grrr! I took ... read more

My history class is now over. I really enjoyed the class and Stephanie is a great teacher. I am now taking THE 201. It is picking up where history class left off. I am enjoying my return to college. It is a lot of work with working full time and having kids. But it will be well worth it when I have my degree. I am also very interested in what I am learning. I did not expect to enjoy the learning part so much. I thought it would be something that I would get through because I wanted the end result. I had no idea that I would enjoy the journey too.... read more

The founding Fathers of this country worked hard to ensure everyone had the freedom to practice any religion they choose. And they worked real hard to word our Constitution to remove religious influence in the government. At least until now. Our President flat out over stepped his powers by vetoing a stem cell research funding bill solely based on "HIS" faith. Now I'm no political scholar but even I see the danger in his actions. He's been able to hand pick his Supreme Court that has set scary presedence on two Bill of Rights cases, he has installed a spying and wiretap program without getting a courts approval, he started a war to avenge his father through manipulated intelligence and now this. Watch out everyone....Our government is out to rewrite the Constitution.... read more

Much of my week has been spent working on the assignments that are due by August 1st. For my oral history project, I am currently interviewing an interesting lady who is shedding light on the impact of the depression on the African American. I am also interested in her view of the lynchings that occured in Coatesville, PA. She has so much to share, the hard part will be deciding what to include in the paper. Busy week though.... read more

I spent the week at the beach in De. It was very relaxing. I enjoyed so much time with my family. It is said as a nation we do not use all of our vacations. I can not imagine any time more well spent then time spent with my family. I use all of my vacation time. I would say 90% of my vacations is used to spend time with family members.... read more
