Hello again guys. First off just want to say i dont read Johns blog entries so forgive me if i repeat what he's already said. I really, really really need a break from drinking. Really. I think out of the 6 weeks or so we have been travelling i've had 3-4 nights that i have not been toasted. AHHHHH. We wake up in the morning now so retartedly, i'm not sure if i would call it hungover cos i think we've moved past that, that we sing for an hour or so...? Anyway hows this. Most people will prolly appreaciate this, but some, and you know who you are, will get a real kick outta this. Last night we where leaving the pub and got to talking to a group of guys that where standing out ... read more

Well, its official, Blair, Alyssa and I have begun our adventure. We're only two days in and I'm honestly already in heaven. It still feels somewhat surreal to be on the verge of exploring all these unbelievable places. I've had to just sit back and pinch myself a few times...I have not felt this free in my entire life and I feel truly blessed to have the luxury to take time in my life to travel and explore another part of the world with 3 people that I love. Right now, I'm sitting in Darrel Frost's (good friend from UPS--Go LOGGERS!) apartments in Manhattan. Blair, Alyssa and I just arrived in New York this evening. We just finished cooking up stir fry with fresh veggies and chicken and some really good olive rosemary bread, with a ... read more

...thats the way you spell new york according to tex perkins...crazy man. Anyway we are still in NYC and the weather is fantastic! sunny and no wind at all...we have been walking around in t-shirts for the past few days. in the end we decided against going to cleveland in favour of staying in, arguably, the best city in the world for the weekend. A decision we are both glad we made. Since out last entry we have done quite a lot. We went for a big walk around central park, and went to the Dakota building where the great John Lennon lived...and died. The door man showed us where he was shot. Its a beautiful building...apparently a small apartment there will set you back 10 million US so you prettty much have to be john ... read more

Taking it back a couple of weeks... Well I am sure you all heard about the storm we had over the weekend (a few weekends ago, now). We got about two feet of snow in less than twenty-four hours. It started on Saturday evening but it was pretty light so we decided to bare it and go out. We went across Central Park to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. It is huge- an amazing sight to see from the street. Inside is also really beautiful and seems to go forever. We didn’t even make it through one floor. Luckily the admission price of fifteen dollars is only suggested, so we can go back every week if we want and just hand them a quarter- really it works! When we woke up Sunday morning the parked cars ... read more

Hola!

So, day 6, made my way to the MOMA, Museum Of Modern Art, only to get there and be faced with "closed on Tuesdays"...just as the Gugenheim was closed on the only day I chose to go! Lesson to be learnt there I guess! So I decided with it being such a clear day, that i'd make my way up to the Empire State Building. This was absolutely stunning, you could see for approximately 25 miles and everything was so clear. I met an Irish guy who was in NYC on business, he took pitty for me being on my own and offered to take my pic so I could prove I had been there. Unfortunately he was flying home that afternoon :o( I found a payphone overlooking the view of the city and called home, ... read more

We have been in NYC for a few days now and yep i love it. What a great place this is, we really don't feel unsafe here...we felt more unsafe in vegas really. If you avoid certain areas after dark you can't get into too much trouble... So far we have seen (as puddy previously mentioned) the seinfield cafe..that was the first thing we did actually becauise it was only 9streets north of where we were staying. We have been up the empire state building, that was fantastic...again they give you an audio companion thing to listen so you know where to look and what you are looking at...you really don't appreciate how big this place is until you see from the top of the empire state. we have eaten a fair bit of NY style ... read more

Day 5 On Sunday morning I woke up feeling pretty awful with the flu, and shattered from all the walking over the past few days. I decided I was in need of some soul food so Patrick and I took a ride into Harlem to experience brunch at the world famous Syliva's restaurant. I think before I went, I had an image in my head of people sitting outside a cafe eating brunch with a choir of gospel singers surrounding them...in actual fact, what I experienced was nothing of the sort! We were sitting in a normal restaurant but with 3 ladies walking around the tables singing their hearts out, getting diners to sing into the microphones, the waitresses would sing, the cleaners would sing...everybody seemed so happy and joyful, it was brilliant. I opted to ... read more
