Amongst other things the solemn promise of 80 degree sunshine and cloudless skies every day lured me out to Minneapolis to visit Sky, a friend met travelling back in Santiago. Unfortunately, (especially given my frailties and love of hot weather) I arrived during the middle of an unusually cold snap with temperatures virtually identical to those I had left behind in England! ok. my plane leaves at like 1 pm tomorrow. i'm waiting to get a haircut and then danielle is forcing me to go out (or something like that). i'm all packed, just need to cancel my cell phone tomorrow, withdraw some cash, and pick up a perscription. i didn't manage to finish reading all the books i was supposed to, but i got a lot done. hopefully i can read on the plane and not throw up. i have three flights and will arrive in entebbe, uganda on june 4th (they are like 8 hours ahead of us in time). got [View Full Entry]

Well, I'm getting ready to take-off for Spain for the summer! My flight leaves at 4:40 pm today from MSP International Airport. From there I go to Chicago, taking an overnight flight to London. Heyyy everyone... Well currently I'm at my Aunty Dornie's & Uncle Ken's place... Itz soooooooooooo great, it sooooooo feels like home... The first morning we slept in till about 11am, then went & had a look at some really cool cheap clothes shops (EVERYTHING is sooooo cheap,,, itz great)... & then we rested for the rest off the day... then the next day we went to an 'All you can eat' brekky... May 19, 2008 Baraboo/Tomah, WI to Bayport, MN and Maple Grove, MN via 1984 F-250 Ford truck Harold and I made it to Lake St. Croix without any problems. We ended up going to Bayport, MN where there are a number of marinas. We found a good ramp at the Beach House marina. The City of Bayport charges $10 for launching and $10 a night for parking a vehicle. WE started stepping the mast and found out that the port spreader was broken. A couple weekends ago, my sister, Fiona, my friend Nash, Mom, and I went to Duluth. It was very pretty, as always. We stayed in this cute little cabin; it was run like a motel but each "room" was its own cabin. My mom and I have stayed in those same ones before. It is right in front of Lake Superior. Well today is the day I have been planning for the last 6 months. Its funny how leaving seems like such a good idea until it gets here, and now I am filled with questions. I know it will be fine once I arrive in Melbourne (in 40 hours....) but right now I am just nervous and already missing my friends and home. My flights are taking me from Minneapolis to LA, from LA to Auckland (NZ), and then from Auckland to Melbourne for a total travel time of about 36 hours.
