So I heard from the homestay co-ordinater today and she says she has someone for me to stay with for most or all of my time in Gifu! All I can say is Baruch Hashem (Thank G-d) b/c otherwise I would have barely been able to survive! Now I can do a bit of travelling! Yay..Tokyo here I come! If I have the time and resources I also want to go to Okinawa, Kyoto and Osaka. But first I have to get my visa and passport settled! Also, back here in Boston, I have oral arguments I'm giving tomorrow and completely terrified! Gah!! This is why I have absolutely NO desire to become a trial lawyer...well one of the reasons I suppose...but man, arguing in front of a judge and hoping the other side doesnt make ... read more

Ok so I got an internship in Japan this summer working for an intellectual property firm there. I'm so excited and yet everything still feels like it hasn't fallen into place yet. I still need to find out if I'm living with a host family or staying in company housing, still in the process of applying for my visa, and still waiting for my passport to arrive (which it better since I spent $100 extra to pay for the expidited shipping!!!) But hopefully everything will be worked out by May 1st. On top of that I'm still trying to find someone to sublet my room and also waiting to see if my current roomate is planning on staying or going. Oh yeah, and final exams....law school final exams...うわーん, とてもむずかしですね!!!じゃ、I'll keep you updated!! Laters, 奈々子 ... read more

It's april fourth and i've been in boston for 5 days now and having so much fun! The flights were about as much fun as you'd expect them to be but between my 17 hour wait in fiji (5 hours of which were spent fast asleep by the pool of the hotel across the road from the hotel that i snuck into), the crazy fijian lady i sat next to for 10 hours on the flight to LA (i swear, the woman must have a bladder the size of a pea she went to the toilet so many times by the end of it she had me trained-she's grunt, i'd move) and then the guy dressed in a red sox baseball outfit who smelt like he hadn't had a shower since before winter (but i sprayed ... read more

Geo: 42.3585, -71.0596I spent a week in Boston in the Spring of 2006 ~ work sent me there for training, actually. We spent more time traveling in and around Boston than training ~ walking the downtown area, took a ferry across to another island, took the train to the outskirts, took a gander at the brownstones, ate some fresh seafood, dined at an uppercrust and lovely real Italian restaurant...here and there, and everywhere. Overall....I was unimpressed everywhere. ... read more

Boston (including Williamstown and North Adams), MA March 24-26, 2006 Girl Trip - tTwo Sisters - by car - guys golfing at Innisbrook near Tampa Friday Williamstown - Loved the Francine & Sterling Clark Museum - Many John Singer Sergeants - nicely organized FREE in the winter months. Had lunch in the lobby - would go back! Williamstown - didn’t stay long at the Williams College Museum - the 2nd floor galleries had special exhibits - to do with pain and suffering - that is hard to consider art. North Adams - The MASS MOCA Museum is a wonderful use of former industrial space - however, the “installations” were hard to relate to. We can usually find something redeeming about contemporary art, but this time, we just didn’t get it - there was an exhibit of ... read more
