Ohla Happy New Year everyone, I hope you all had a good one and a great Christmas. We have just had a fantastic 2 weeks in Mexico. We arrived at Cancun airport on Sunday 17th December at about 10pm after travelling for more than 22 hours so completely knackered, although very excited knowing would be seeing Mum and David soon. It took an hour to get to the hotel from the airport as we away from the touristy area of Cancun and in a place called Riviera Maya near to Playa del Carmen. We arrived at the hotel and turned into the entrance where you then had to drive about half a mile to reach the entrance to the hotel as massive. It is the most amazing hotel I have ever stayed in and talk about ... read more

Anywhere with a zona hotelera should be avoided, unless Disneyland is your second favourite place on earth. Saturated with Burger Kings, Starbucks and all things American, including the language, I was confused as to where I was. It's true I wasn't in Central America, Mexico is in fact part of North America, but it's also definitely a different country. Mexico definitely has a different language, a distinct culture, a Mayan history and indigenous people. Didn't it? Doesn't it? So, we quickly left Cancun, but not before spending a couple of hours fighting with hotel security to get onto the beach, to then fight with the "lifeguard" for some shade, which was more of a priority for him than actually saving a drowning man, who he was unaware of until we insited he get in the water ... read more

Queridos Amigos, I hope everyones New Year went well. Mine was fun. I have been really busy so please forgive me for not writing. I will catch you up now though. It is almost a week though so it could get long. Jueves (Thursday) - My 5 Month Anniversary Well, the morning I spent in the house being bored. I was suppose to go to the movies with a bunch of my friends, but none of them could so I went by myself. It was actually really nice. I saw Una Noche en el Museo, also known as One Night in the Museum. It was a really cute movie. If you are ever bored on a rainy day it is a nice thing to go see. Then I walked around the mall. I bought myself a ... read more

Jan 3rd-Jan 16th Cristiano and I spent two weeks traveling up and down a 200km piece of the Pacific coast of Mexico. We spent 2 days in a small surfing town called Sayulita, 2 nights in Puerto Vallarta, 2 nights in a resort called El Carayes and a week in another small town called La Manzanilla with my dad, step-mom and my little brother and sister. We had a great time! Our car broke down twice which was the only bummer about the trip but it also added some adventure. I have attached some photos from our trip. Enjoy! We leave for Brazil on Monday. Will update ASAP. Liz and Cristiano... read more

Today We went to do some hiking over to the Waterfalls at "Cañon de la Zorra", the weather has been real good for Hiking, were at 25 Celsious and a mild wind was blowing to keep us cool trough the hike, vegetation is still very abundant, although is not a crazy jungle like it was in the summer, the water was quite chilli as we dove in to the natural pool where the waterfall is. The Warick's were the familly that came along on tour 2 adults and 2 boys in their youger teens, the boys loved jumping of the waterfall, and they also had a good kick from the Zoo at Santiago. Once again a Safe and succesfull tour, every body back in their hotels safely. www.ramonsecotours.com... read more

This will be the begining to my day to day Blogging, informing about the Conditions encountered on any of my diferent tours: Kayaking, Snorkeling, Hiking and Surfing Mainly. Kayaking to The Arch: - Took the Toninos (Italian Family), 2 couples and one 8 year old. - Weather; was about 25 Celcious, no wind what so ever, not even in San Jose del Cabo, normaly this time of year the North East Winds stop me from doing the 3 Bay Tour, Cabo Pulmo and La Paz (Isla Espiritu Santo) Kayaking and Snorkeling Tour. The Arch Tour is good to do Year round cause of its geographical location, protected from the winds of the winter, and no existing winds in the summer. - Water ws finally kindda cold, everybody was very greatfull we had wetsuits for our snorkeling ... read more

Now, I am in Guadalajara, it´s morning and I get to spend today finishing up here and then heading back to the airport for a direct flight to OHare. The bus trip back from Puerto Vallarta was mostly uneventful, no traffic or anything. It took us a while to figure out the right buses, but the people here are so helpful it has never been a problem. This morning and older guy, obviously still drunk from last night, was telling us where to go, only really really quickly, and with a drunken slur... so we didn´t get it. it still worked out. we were at the bus station early and ate a burrito. This time, we didn´t get Lunch Plus on the bus, (did I tell about that last time? it´s sort of at an inside ... read more

NEW YEAR! AH! This one{s going to be good, I swear... It certainly started off right ;) The party was lots of fun, everyone got super drunk really quickly, there are a lot of US frat boy types here. Some people played with sparklers on the roof and I took pictures. Then I stayed here and spent some quality time with Wendy, and we went up to the roof to watch the fireworks on the beach at midnite. It was pretty much my favorite new years. But now it{s time to begin the long trip home. All day today on a bus to Guadalajara. All day tomorrow packing up and readying myself for customs and so forth. Ugh. Saying some goodbyes I guess. :( Oh how this trip has changed my life.... read more

On our way home yesterday, I forgot to mention, we stopped at the Buddha Lounge, for a bebida and also for dinner, though... it turned out to be upscale USA pricing, so we didn{t stay for dinner. Instead, we went to this place around the corner called Redneck something and it was like... Mexican run but USA themed, but Mexican colored, Mexican priced, with USA food. It was kinda odd and not populated enough for me to be totally comfortable there. Anyway, the price was right... so Wendy ordered the Sausage Happy Special Dinner (or something along those lines), Matheu ordered BBQ rib dinner, and I got Filet Mignon dinner, medium. About the same time our ($7 a plate!) meals arrived, a local cover band came on and started off the night with Come As You ... read more
