Today was pretty much just a travel day. A travel day on about 2 hours sleep. Sleep was way too difficult last night. Not sure why. Probably the insane timezone changes! I headed straight to the airport today on the Skytrain again. I really don't know how those things work. They appear not to have a driver - it might be magic. Confusing, but very convenient. I really didn't know what to expect flying domestically in North America. It was a bit more super serious than domestic travel at home. I got to the airport with about an hour and a half before my flight. After checking in, I approached security screening. The first thing I noticed that was different was that you have to show photo ID at every stage (check in, security, and boarding ... read more

Well, I've made as far Vancouver. Now I have to kill a few hours in the airport before my flight to Beijing. It's a little overhelming, I'm not as young and fearless as I used to be! Onward to ASIA!!!... read more

Well, we have arrived in Vancouver for 4 days of training. We are so excited to be here! We are staying at the Delta Airport. Very busy, the Canadian Open is on and they are staying here. What a relief from the heat wave back east! Day 1 of training at the Rick Hansen Foundation was great. Met all of our team. Great bunch! Got to shake hands with Rick Hansen himself today! What an honor! We learned our dance. Will post picks when we get good at it!!! After a long day of training we went for an awesome dinner at the Flying Beaver with the crew. Day 2 of training. Met the whole RHR crew. Lot's of new names and faces also some familiar ones. Day 3 of training. Lots of really interesting and ... read more

So when I asked my friend Dana when she'd be home this summer, she told me that she'd only be home over the Labour Day weekend (by which time I'd already be back in Honduras), and then asked when I was planning on coming to Vancouver. This began the beginning of my decision to be a tourist in my own country this summer! Mom was able to find me a pretty good seat sale with WestJet and so my 2 week plans began. I messaged a bunch of friends who live in Vancouver and arranged to meet up with several people. So on the 9th it began: Mom, Dad, and I were off to Toronto for the night, as they were flying out to Newfoundland the same day I was flying to Vancouver (I planned it ... read more

4 July, 2011 Day one of our trip. So far so good! We got on the plane and it flew without any delays, landing gear malfunctions, or idiots working the customer service desk. I am currently sitting in Vancouver with Terri enjoying the relaxing atmosphere of the airport for approximately the next three hours. The day started out like normal with Mom driving me to the airport to meet Terri. (Thanks Mom, I love you!) We duct taped up our hiking bags and proceeded through security. Once on the other side I was starting to have some typical Corey moments. When sitting down to eat I almost fell down not once but twice because I couldn't figure out how to get out of a chair. (I think they teach that in the first grade, I must ... read more

Oh joys! My day began at 10 this morning with getting five hours of sleep and being excited as hell to be leaving Canada for the first time. The build up to this has been interesting to say the least. Starting with the beginning of this year and working its way until now. With all the ups and downs and for the most part this has been a bad year for myself. But with all the bad there has been just as equal amount of good. But whats life without adventure and heartache, there's nothing to gain from an easy life! So there is two hours until my flight and more or less I am nervous, leaving everything I know behind (and the canucks just scored) but this is my adventure now and I plan on ... read more

I was up bright and early today to catch the 5 am ferry off Vancouver Island. I love taking the early ferry, it's so quiet and peaceful and it gave me lots of time to think about the adventure I was embarking on. To be honest, I was absolutely terrified. I had never been away from home for this long before. If I thought the two weeks I had been gone last time was hard, this was going to be even worse. It wouldn't have been so bad if I hadn't been in a serious relationship at the time. But I tried to think positive. I was going back to Europe! I'd been working a LOT of overtime to save enough money for this, and I was determined to enjoy myself, and not miss home too ... read more

And so it begins. I apologize in advance for any time of yours which you feel has been waisted by visiting, reading, or investing any amount of yourself into the following blog. Complaints can be filed and will be reviewed at the following adress: http://www.facebook.com/#!/profile.php?id=500136283 Successfully flew into YVR yesterday and spent the entire night listening to podcasts, doing homework, and downloading an excessive amount of music. For the record the two new podcasts I have began following are Walking the Room and Sklarbro Country. If you have any desire to listen to sports podcasts or just hilarious banter these are required listening and highly suggested. As my crew all found there way out last night into the vast Vancouver night life I lay, as stated, stranded in my hotel room too hungover to get up ... read more
