Another day, another countdown. Today, I didn't manage to do a lot of trip planning and preparation. We have to go to the dentist. My husband chipped one of his front tooth and it needed the tender loving care of our family dentist. Yesterday I talked about signing up a deal with a tour agent in Beijing. You might be wondering why I did that. For me travel and style is a personal choice. It is usally dictated by ones desire for comfort and convinience as well as budget and experience. While you can travel indpendently, you face alot of time consuming hassles which you can avoid if you have a tour guide with you. So been here for over a month. Still no job, still no house but i have my football and i'm meeting sooooo many people. Its frustrating but fun at the same time. Anyways i really don't have much of anything new to report. I have still been job hunting but slacked off a bit last week. You get to a point where you just can't fill out another application or where you just can't answer more questions or where you just cant make people see past the fact that i have been a nanny for the last five years! Bunch of douche bags. Charlotte (English friend) left me this week. Finally we both have seats on the 23:45 flight to Sydney, currently they are not together but hopefully at the gate we will be able to make things work! After "having" to fly first from LAX to YVR, Chris and I were tempted to upgrade our flight from Vancouver to Syndey. Unlike our flight form Los Angeles it is not cheaper to fly first class ($419 for executive/ first class vs. $875 economy) and after our first oops $1,800 for both us to upgrade is not in the travel budget. HOWEVER for those planning on traveling for Syndey $900 all in for an up grade from the economy fare is a steal of a deal because buying first class from the get go will cost you $9,048/person each way. In two hours we have gotton off our plane, through customs and into a food court where we have now taken over four tables we are nesting in for the morning. No one's really sure what to do for the remainder of our layover and no one has realized that we just left the country for a SEVEN MONTH trip. Everyone is currently trying to send their families a couple of messages with the free (yay) WiFi. The flight was good and we got a great view of the sunrise and the mountains. Now we are looking out a window at the beautiful view.
