Well the count down is on! Very busy days, but the energy from the crowds and the team keeps us fresh! Our final week was very eventful and also very emotional! We had some very prominant Medal Bearers. We met Rick's family, friends and colleagues! Exceptional people! Day 273, our final day was bitter sweet! It was hard to believe that this incredible journey had come to an end. Our final Medal Bearer, Amanda, was a young lady from Alberta who at 17 years old has already made incredible differences in her community! Amanda handed over the Medal to Rick at Terry Fox Plaza. The final exchange was very emotional! Our team shed many tears and shared many hugs over the final 3 days! When all was said and done, we attended Celebration 25. This was ... read more

Greetings! Hank and I arrived safely back on the relay in Edmonton. Our hotel was the Delta which was actually part of a huge mall. Our first relay day was very busy! I was made host and had 2 medal bearer meetings with some very important people. Since this isn't my usual role, I was quite nervous. With the help of Monty, Scott and Herve we pulled them off quite well! Since Rick was with us in Edmonton, many of his friends and colleagues were MB's. The next day was an event day. I helped out at a school presentation and then later that afternoon went to the West Edmonton Mall to watch some of my team go bungee jumping! The next day we relayed to Spruce Grove. Marika from head office and her husband and ... read more

Hi all! Hank and I finished our last relay day in Innisfail, AB. After the End of Day celebration we carried onto Red Deer to get our luggage and then drove to Leduc (Edmonton Airport) to head back east for our 1 week holiday. It was a very busy week, but great non the less! We got to visit all of the kids, grandkids, Hil and Pete, Carol, Randy and Nick, Patti and Brian, Jan, Vance and Ali, Joanie and Rick, Dawn and Mathew and even got a little cuddle in with Hemi!!! Sorry if I missed anyone! We definitely could have used a couple more days, but it is also good to get back to work with the Relay Family! We are on the home stretch! Love always, Weedie and Jeepa xoxoxoo....... read more

Hello folks! Before I start to ramble on, I want to let you know that there are some odd words and symbols etc. in the blog. I think this is because I copied and pasted from an email. I can't fingure out how to get rid of it without redoing the whole thing. Since I am off to work in 10 minutes, I am just going to ask for your forgiveness! Hope you enjoy the blog and hoping everyone is happy and well. Love as always, Weedie and Jeepa! xoxo We enjoyed Super Bowl Sunday in Regina. We had a room in the hotel and the whole team came. We started with a moving speech from Lonnie our endurance participant. He told the team about his accident in graphic detail. It was quite moving. I think ... read more

Hello from the Prairies! We were in Winnipeg for such a long time that it was great to start heading west again! The temps have been freakishly warm out here! The first place we stopped was a little community called Elie. We had 3 MB's there one of which was the mother of Tim McClain. I'm sure everyone will remember the horrific event 3 years ago on the Greyhound bus when Tim was murdered and decapated. Debbie was one of the strongest women I have met. Her anger at the system has made her this way. Vince Li was found NCR (not criminally responsible) and also doubles for "no criminal record". He will be released very soon. She is fighting the system to change the laws. She has some incredible stories of other cases that were ... read more
