My flight to London Gatwick left at 7:40 this morning, so I had to wake up around 4:40. I wanted to make sure I didn’t miss my flight. After checking out of my hostel, I took the 5:15 Airlink bus to the airport. Luckily, I had already printed my boarding pass for Ryanair. My luggage ending up being a kilo overweight so I had to pay 10 euros, but that was the cheapest option and I had already packed everything I could fit into my carry-ons. After I checked in, I had to make it through security. It was a really long line and I was very glad to have come early. Small in length as opposed to small Bicycles! which would have been ridiculous.Great food, people and scenery. Do go to Lissewege near Brugge and stay in the luxury B & B Lissode (Bull Rush in Dutch). Eat fantastic food in near Michelin Rosette restaurants only a few hundred meters away. Pedal into Holland and use thee brilliant cycle networks that take you all the way across Belgium to Holland if you feel energetic.Since my last entry the harvest has been gathered in by The Muscles from Brussels!... read more

We had planned visiting Hampton Court on Wednesday, 19 June. Mark took an annual leave from 19 June, and six of us planned visiting Hampton Court Palace. We met up with John & Mary and my parents at Waterloo station in the morning and took the British Rail for Hampton Court from Waterloo. My kind sister-in-law, Rhiannon arranged for six of staff complimentary tickets for us, and it allowed us to go through the entrance for the palace. We walked through the Seymour Gate and strolled through lanes flanked by the medieval buildings. We entered the Henry VIII’s Apartments, looked round the Great Hall, Great Watching Chamber, Council Chamber, and found it interesting in portraits of English monarchs, members of their families and relatives, Henry VIII’s wives and Tudor courtiers.
