Shocking news! My mother and father have been parents for 20 years! Anyways these are some photos from my birthday. It was so fun! Jon came up from Sheffield and we made dinner for our friends Amy and Hannah. We made a herbed rack of lamb(it looks moss covered in the photo), An amazing salad that even the sumanik family would enjoy! Roasted potatoes. I can't remember what all these things are called but they can all be found in Gordon Ramsay's Sunday Brunch. Amy and Hannah made me the beautiful triple chocolate cake. The next night Jon and I made ourselves a huge dinner of which there is no pictures to celebrate my birthday/our one year anniversary. Again I can't remeber the name pork tenderloin butterflied so it could be stuffed with sage and lemon, ... read more

I am now making preaparations for cycling in India in mid February. Visa obtained and health jabs taken. I need to keep baggage weight down to comply with Emirates 20 k allowance. I am sure it is not attainable since bike and bag are in excess before rest of gear. I am looking forward to the experience since it will be the first time in a non western culture.... read more

It's New Years Eve and I have been home for 2 weeks. The sun hasn't been out once and beer is expensive. I've had enough. I'm going back to Thailand to cheer myself up. I have decided to go back out and do Divemaster on Ko Tao. If I don't do it now then I never will and will regret it for the rest of my life. I fly out on 14th Jan for 1 month, then its back home to grow up and look for a job. But before i do anything I have old friends to catch up with. I havn't been back to Northampton in over a year, and I have yet to meet Megan Dempsie, who was born while I was away last year, so I am combining the 2 in a ... read more

Hey, I need to take some more pictures of where I live but here is what I have. My university campus is about a 20 minute bus ride out of town and is surrounded by cows. I've begun to walk into town to save myself the 5 dollars it costs for me to take the bus. It is gorgeous I wish I could say the same for my dorm room. The people in my Corridor are great and another Canadian lives just down the hall from me. The town is beautiful; it has loads of old houses and we even have a castle! Part of the castle is actually the prison but Susie and I went on a tour of the castle and had a great time. Love Caitlyn... read more

251 Hours and 15 minutes. No, it's not the title of an avant garde song or the catchy tagline of an epic war film, it's exactly how long I've been in the great United Kingdom. Thats right just over 10 days and sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo many things have happened . I've had two of my classes so far, Biology and Cross-Cultural Ethics. Both promise to be pretty badass. Not gonna lie, during the introductory week--Fresher's Week--there was a good bit of partying. I keep forgetting most of my flatmates and new friends are the US equivalent of Freshmen. It has been quite fun though. I have ridden a double decker bus and shopped at a Somerfield's (Hot Fuzz fans know what Im talkin bout!). I have also visited my very first castle! I cried, for it was ... read more

I am here...I am tired...I am quite ready for classes to start...and I am loving it!! Sooooooooo.....the journey started leaving Helena and getting to SLC...pretty bland actually. Then from Salt Lake to NYC on the biggest plane I have ever been on--The great Boeing 757. It had screens on the back of each seat....whoa....I didnt pay for a movie cause Im cheap, but I did play this trivia game on it that linked you up with anyone else playing on the plane, and I was consistently second. I even got on the high score list...whop de do. JFK was pretty uneventful except for one event. I almost got hit by a pigeon. Not my plane, not my bus, not even me hitting a pigeon...a pigeon hitting me. In the terminal. Freakin' weird. It flew by ... read more

My final game of cricket for Barrow was in Darwen, this was close to where Todd was staying in Wigan so I caught the train. This game was supposed to see me get 5 wickets, hit the last ball for 6 to win the game and rightfully get all the praise and glory. Unfortunately no one told that to the opposition. Their pro especially didn’t want to co-operate scoring a meager 205 not out. They declared for 310 off just 45 overs. Needless to say there were some pretty awful bowling figures. I managed to take 2 wickets, but for 50 runs off 5 overs (for all you non-cricketers that isn’t awesome). I got a bit angry if truth be told as I ran their pro out with a direct hit when he was on 150 ... read more

Hi! Before I start, I'd like to say thank-you to everyone for my birthday presents and cards I had a lovely day and was spoilt rotten! Okay, now to the dreaded subject! Results day!!! Something I had been dreading for a long time. Well the day has been and gone now and it wasn't at all as bad as I was expecting. I got A for my English (which I got last year), A for Law, A for Sociology and C for Accounting, giving me A,A,A,C in total. I was over the moon to find out that both my Universities were willing to have me (Nottingham & Warwick) and I've decided to go to Nottingham. It's still not sunk in properly yet! I start on Monday 22nd September 2008 reading Law and luckily my friend from ... read more
