Hi everyone, How are you all? A lot has happened since our last blog but I'll try to keep this blog short and sweet where possible. We left the capital of Sabah, Kota Kinabalu, on 2nd June and travelled on a long and winding road through the mountains to Sandakan. Whilst in Sandakan we were lucky enough to find a bargain and clean hotel (a rarity in Malaysia!), called Mayfair Hotel. It was run bu a very helpful Chinese man, who lent us free DVD's, arranged our transport and made us feel very welcome. For any travellers reading this blog, we [View Full Entry]

The above video is a video we made on the camera whilst at the wildlife park. It was great being able to watch the organ-utans just playing around. This is the first time I've been able to put a video on the blog (as the internet speed has to be quite decent in order for it to be successful). Press the play button in the centre of the picture and hopefully it should start playing. If anyone has any problems playing the video, please let me know and I'll see if I can sort it. Thanks! Hello everyone, how are you all? Hope you've been enjoying the bank holiday weekend! It's been a while since we've done an up to date blog so this one covers quite a lot of areas throughout Malaysia. However, I've got a treat in store for you this time as this is Stu's debut blog. Enjoy.......! We arrived in Kuala Lumpur on the 12th May after taking a pleasant coach from Penang. We found the bus surprisingly cool with good air conditioning and it was a nice change not to leave the bus feeling like you had just gone for a swim [View Full Entry]

This blog contains my underwater photos from when I did the underwater photography course back in Koh Tao, Thailand in April. I've only just been able to view the DVD with the photos on and wanted to share them with you. There were many to choose from so I've just put on my favourites as the photos take ages to upload on the slow computers. I've since done more diving in Malaysia where I was lucky enough to be able to swim with both turtles and sharks. An updated blog of what we've been upto more recently in Malaysia is due [View Full Entry]

Hello! How are you all? I hope that you're making the most of the sunshine I hear you're having! So after Krabi (Thailand), we moved even further South to a tiny island called Ko Lipe on 3rd May. This is a lovely undeveloped island with gorgeous beaches and blue seas. Unfortunately when we were there it was the rainy season so we only got one nice day out of 5. However, we made of most of our time on the island and still managed to relax. Thankfully we managed to get some great accommodation which was right on a beautiful beach. [View Full Entry]

Hi, How is everyone? I hope that you're all well. We've been quite busy since our last blog so here goes.... On 22nd April we took part in an environment Save the Earth day which was great fun. I decided to try to save the Earth one coral at a time by diving to clean the corals and examining them. We had to check the colours of the corals and record them on our underwater writing boards and later pass this information onto Marine Researchers who could input the data to see how much damage the coral is receiving. I did [View Full Entry]

Hi! How is everyone? We hope that you're all keeping well. I'm a bit behind on the blogging so this is a bit of a catch up. The morning we left Luang Prabang, Laos, we got up extra early (around 5.30ish am) in order to see the Buddist monks collecting their alms (their daily food). This is done because the monks aren't allowed to buy themselves any food so they live off the food that is donated to them by the locals each morning. It's quite long and complicated why this is done so I will try to make it short [View Full Entry]

New Year celebrations in Vientiane, Laos

Hi everyone, I'm hoping to be able to attach some more photos from Luang Prabang, Laos as the computer I was using when I wrote the last blog wouldn't let me add many...but we'll see. We're now in Vang Vieng, Laos but unfortunately haven't gotten to see much thanks to a bit of a tummy bug. We're both fully recovered now (and a lot hungrier!) and have just bought our bus tickets onto the capital of Laos, Vientiane for tomorrow morning. We would have liked to have stayed in Vang Vieng for longer but I've signed upto a scuba diving course [View Full Entry]

Hi everyone! Happy New Year from Laos, where it's the year 2551! They celebrate New Year in a different manner...a very fun one involving lots of water and buckets. Since we've been in Luang Prabang we've pretty much been soaked through the whole time as the Lao kids love to aim their water pistols at unsuspecting toursits whilst shouting "Happy New Year!" You can see their little faces light up when they spot you walking down the street in their direction, it's hilarious! They all line the streets and splash anyone cycling or walking past. This type of celebration will now [View Full Entry]

Hi all, How is everyone? Hope you're all enjoying the snow I hear you're having over there. So once we arrived in Chiang Mai we found a guesthouse close to the centre. We stayed in the Old Quarter of the city surrounded by a moat and a (fallen down) wall. Once we had settled back into city life, after living at the elephant camp, we went to explore Chiang Mai's famous night bazaar. The night bazaar is an enormous night market selling lots of local handicrafts, clothes, shoes...pretty much everything you can imagine really. We went a little crazy here, buying [View Full Entry]
